Natural Makeup – Natural Cosmetics and Organic Beauty Products Maybe you're curious to know whether natural feels better and is better for you. Maybe you'd like to reduce your exposure to chemicals. Or maybe you've read some scary news about the potential health risks of an ingredient, only to learn that it's in your daily face cream. Whatever your reason, finding a truly "natural" product can be tricky. "The FDA doesn't provide guidance on natural personal-care products, be they toothpaste or mascara, and there is no legal or medical definition of 'natural,' either," says New York City dermatologist Anne Chapas, M.D. To help you decide, Good Housekeeping surveyed 900-plus readers to find out which synthetic ingredients topped their list of concerns. Next: The dangers behind common makeup ingredients

- Wonder Forest -: Messy chunky beach waves... Easy tutorial! I'm one of those people who was cursed with stick straight thin hair that hates to curl. I used to do the traditional "braid your hair before bed" and rag curling tricks to get nice beachy waves, but they never ended up turning out right the next day. I didn't like the fact that the process took a whole night, and I had no way of knowing what my hair was going to look like when I pulled the braids/rags out. Do you know how nerve-wracking that is, especially if you have an event to go to (*cough* my brother's wedding)? Would the curls be too tight? would they end up in funny places? I developed my own way of doing nice randomly chunky waves. Here's how to get some nice messy random waves, without sleeping on a head of uncomfortableness. I absolutely LOVE the randomness of these curls. Have you seen this method done before? "How do you put your hair in the flat iron without burning your fingers?" Feel free to Pin!!

My Favorite Travel Makeup Bag May Come as a Surprise: Makeup and Beauty Blog: Makeup Reviews, Beauty Tips and Drugstore Beauty Finds Written by Audrey Freelance makeup artist Audrey of Makeup by Audrey takes her makeup with her on the road with help from the subjects of today’s guest post. It’s the holidays, and for a lot of us that means hitting the airways or the road. I’ve been using the same makeup travel bag for a few years now, and I love it! My favorite part of the bag: the built in brush holder. I like the way the whole thing is laid out. The entire bag also rolls up nicely and stays wrapped with an elastic band, so you can really stuff it with products. I’m still amazed by how well this bag has held up over the years (knock on wood!) You might be surprised by to find out that this amazing makeup bag comes to us from Mary Kay, and more amazing still is that it’s not actually sold on its own but rather as an accessory to their brush set. The brushes themselves are just OK, definitely great for a starter set, but not quite the same quality as others I’ve used in the same price range (like Sigma brushes).

Makeup Savvy: Dazzle Dust Nail Tutorial I've been wanting to try out paint splattered nails for ages now, however it seems like alot of hard work and also kind of messy! So me being supposedly 'savvy' and all I came up with a probably just as messy idea...but slightly more fun and prettier. Also it looks alot more delicate than having a paint splattered effect and alot less nail arty and more wearable. Now like I say... it is kind of messy so you will need at least one face wipe/baby wipe and something to do it on like the back of a magazine. I used a Barry M Dazzle Dust in Brass (100) £4.50 and the nail polish is by Beauty UK in Smokey Lilac £1.79. 1) Firstly you need to give your nails one coat of nail polish. 2) Once dry you can apply the second coat. 3) Next before your nails dry (so you have to be quick) you need to scoop out a small amount of the pigment/dazzle dust (I do this with the end of a spoon) and tap the pigment below the bottom of the nail onto the skin, just below the cuticle. Et Voila!

DIY - MAKE YOUR OWN WAX FOR HAIR REMOVAL | Fashion I was chatting with someone on my flight back from my vacation. She lived in another country where salons are hard to come by or if they are around, they aren't very good. So, sometimes a girl has got to depend on herself. Wax recipe Ingredients 2 cups sugar ¼ cup water ¼ cup lemon juice Method Pour the sugar, water and lemon juice in a saucepan, and heat it over a low flame. How do you know it is done? Take a glass of water and put a drop of wax into it. Benefits of making your own WAX: 1. Waxing strips: We used to do this in college all the time. NOTE: The inner facing fabric of the jeans should be the one touching your skin otherwise if you use the opposite side, your skin will probably get blue with the denim color. Waxing technique Test the temperature before applying the wax to your skin. Benefits of Waxing 1.

Bottle it up | Maskcara - StumbleUpon The best stuff in life is free. Like sunshine, blue skies and THE OCEAN…if you have access to it, that is. Which I don’t. And I know it’s only January but I’m already Jonesing for spring. So, to scratch the itch, I decided to go with beach hair. Problem was I needed sea spray to get the really beachy look and texture. So with much hesitation and skepticism I took on the task of making my own, with stuff I already had around the house. BELIEVE me when I tell you, this is BY FAR the best sea spray I have ever used, EVER. RECIPE: 1 Cup WARM water 3 Tablespoons Sea Salt 1 Tablespoon Gel or Spray Gel 1/2 Tablespoon Conditioner (or leave-in) A couple spritzes of your favorite perfume DIRECTIONS: Mix Warm water and salt first and shake well.

Collection as of January 2010 - xSparkage Oooh I hope I don’t live to regret making this post! So, BY FAR my number one requested video to do is a collection video. If you’ve watched me for awhile, you know that in the past I haven’t exactly been the biggest fan of collection or haul videos, and the last time I did a collection video (June 2007, eesh! It’s grown.. a bit. hah) I got a TON of remarks on having too much, spending too much money, etc, etc.. and, quite honestly, that video has a small, itty bitty fraction of the amount of stuff I have acquired since! Anyways, because it is my most requested video, and because I love you guys, I’m giving in. Please don’t ask me “how much did all of that cost?” Also, since this is my collection, I am showing you it just as it is. Okay, enough disclaimer nonsense, on to the pics! Here is my desk. Close up of full desk. Pigment Rack/ extra polishes. Left side. Right Side. Closeup of brushes. First Drawer Left side. 2nd drawer left side. 3rd drawer left side. 4th drawer left side. Woo!

See Creatures & The Perfect Mermaid Curls Although “perfect” is a relative term, this method for curling hair is pretty much perfect by my standards, mostly because it isn’t fussy. While I’m a sucker for both ringlets and Californian waves, I like my own curls somewhere in between: relaxed but bouncy. Mermaid-like. Supplies: 1″ curling iron, brush, and hair sprayTime: 45 minutes (for thick hair) All of the magic happens with Revlon’s “Helen of Troy” ceramic 1″ curling iron. For hairspray, I’m a fan of Tigi’s Hard Head, which has a strong hold without the severe crunchiness. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Repeat this around your entire head. Don’t get lazy with the back of your head! Et voilà! Keywords: wavy hair tutorial, curly hair tutorial, curling iron tutorial
