As a print designer, you will find yourself using selections to remove objects from their background to place within ads. As a web designer, you might extract an image and place it on a website with no background. If you are a photographer, you might make a selection to remove blemishes or other unwanted features from an image. You can’t get around it; everyone uses selections, and if you make excellent selections, you’ll end up with excellent work. So, what do you do when you have something that is extremely difficult to select with normal selection tools? Even with the masking and channels, you can’t make a precise selection consistently. You can try the quick selection tool, which does a great job of making a selection of the bulk of the image, but making a more refined selection is difficult with this method. The big flowers are so excellent, aren’t they? Brittany wanted to bring some of the magical imagery from Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen (where they had their first date) and the fantasy of Hans Christian Andersen fairytales into their wedding decor, i.e. big, quirky signs and magnificent, oversized florals (because Brittany LOVES all things floral). The flowers are completely amazing. Brittany is wearing her mom’s dress. So cute! To create the 20 huge banners, Brittany sent blank canvas to a bunch of friends and family and had them paint the banners instead! Two Shades of Pink Paper Dots Garland Apr 10 Here is a little fun party garland made out of my favorite material: crepe paper. I was playing around with it for a different project and loved how these looked like kind of like candy, or else like little polka dots or beads. Click through for directions and more photos. Materials Needed: Crepe Paper Folds and Scissors Step 1: Cut off a 1.5″ piece off a fold of crepe paper Step 2: Grab the end section.
