A Myford ML7 of my own When I was a teenager my father worked for a university department as the technical officer. His job was to maintain all the systems of the building (airconditioning, gas and compressed air supply, deionized water etc) and the equipment needed for experiments. He was also required to manufacture new experimental equipment. To do all this he had a workshop containing a Myford S7, a Littlejohn 10" with continuously variable speed, and a Marlow vertical mill. Somehow I managed to convince him that teaching me to use the machines was a good idea.

MGB Home Page Background to the MGB When the MGA had been announced in 1955, it had set new standards for MG in terms of performance and styling, but by the beginning of the 1960's it had become slightly out-dated. Sports car design had moved up a gear, particularly in terms of comfort and the prospective sports car buyer was demanding more sophistication than the MGA was able to deliver. For MG's sake, the replacement needed to offer better performance and a greater degree of comfort. History has now shown that the new car did have these features, for it was the venerable MGB, a car which was to sell over five times the numbers of MGA. Car Lust: Car Lust It may not have much name recognition on this side of the pond, but the Noble M12 GTO-3R is one of the all-time great performance cars the world has ever seen. Like the Ariel Atom, the Noble is available in the United States under kit-car regulations if assembled here. But don't let the kit car designation fool you; this is no VW Bug that looks like a mashed Lamborghini, or a Pontiac Fiero made to look like a lumpy Ferrari.

THE TINKER TOOL AND CUTTER GRINDING JIG The TINKER is a simple, practical, and compact T&C Grinding Jig that will sharpen end mills, side and face milling cutters, slitting saws, twist drills, reamers- in fact, just about any cutter you’d find in a small machine shop, a gunsmith’s shop*, or home workshop. Plus it will let you grind lathe toolbits to known angles. NOTE: The end guard for the right hand wheel on the grinder in the photo above, and in the 2 photos on the next TINKER page, was removed temporarily for illustrative purposes only. All guards supplied by grinding machine makers should always be kept in place and used as the maker intended. Because it teams up with your existing bench grinder, the TINKER does not require you to make a high class grinding spindle.
