Cranberry Pecan Rosemary Chicken Salad My all-time favorite chicken salad has to be the cranberry chicken salad from Celebrity Cafe & Bakery in Dallas. I still hold a special place in my heart for Wrightsville Beach, NC’s best at Robert’s Market (in both regular and low-fat), but Celebrity’s crunchy, sweet cranberry version wins by a landslide. When I lived in Dallas, my office was conveniently located around the corner from Celebrity in Highland Park Village. At least once a week, I picked up the cranberry chicken salad, changing it up a bit each time by ordering either the sandwich version or the salad version (you know, when I was trying to be “healthy”).

the beach house kitchen The Beet Leaves With beetroots like these who needs spinach?! Or something like that anyway. "Psych"-Inspired Cinnamon Pie I have a confession. I am completely hooked on "Pysch"--you know, that ridiculously crazy, crazily good, pseudo-pyschic comedy-drama mystery series on USA. It's this new obsession that I discovered a few weeks ago thanks to my husband and the good people at Netflix. Last week, we watched the "Dual Spires" episode, in which Shawn and Gus go to a small town to attend a cinnamon festival, but stay for the cinnamon pie (not to mention the not-unforeseen murder investigation).Comedic and investigative antics aside, the homemade cinnamon pie in the episode was impossible to forget. It was mouthwatering.

7 cheap and easy vegetarian meals Photo: Kelly Rossiter Many of us lead busy lives and everyone, especially those of us with families, is trying to get dinner on the table as quickly and easily as possible. Occasionally we fall back on using prepackaged meals from the grocery store or calling for takeout. Those meals have more fat, salt and sugar than we need, they produce a lot of garbage from the packaging and they are more expensive than cooking from scratch. In these uncertain economic times, we need to look at our food costs and start to spend more wisely.

Gluten Free Vegan Breakfast Cookies I’ve been wanting to experiment more with gluten free recipes since I have a few friends that eat gluten free and I am wanting to shy more away from it myself. These cookies are a result of that desire, and although they were kind of an experiment, they turned out so good I simply could not stop eating them (as in “6 cookies in one day” kind of good). My ingredients are simple: Peanut butter, banana, coconut oil, agave nectar, almonds and flaxseed. Braided Spaghetti Bread » The official blog of America's favorite frozen dough We are carb lovers at our house, so when I saw the Braided Spaghetti Bread recipe in the Rhodes Home Baked Family Favorites with frozen dough cookbook I knew we would love it. This is a really simple recipe; it just takes a little planning for thawing the dough. It will take 2-3 hours for the bread loaf to thaw to room temperature or 1-2 hours for the rolls to thaw to room temperature. You will need: 1 Loaf Rhodes Bread Dough or 12 Rhodes Dinner Rolls, thawed to room temperature6 oz spaghetti, cooked 1 cup thick spaghetti sauce 8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into 1/2 –inch cubes 1 egg white Parmesan cheese Parsley flakes
