How To: Soft Flat Iron Curls

How To: Soft Flat Iron Curls
Recently I've had a lot of requests for a step-by-step on these curls - These curls are done with a flat iron. A huge part of getting your flat iron curls to turn out is using the right kind of flat iron! When picking out a flat iron that's good for curling, look for one that's skinny, has rounded edges, and gets somewhat hot on the outside of the plates as well. For these curls I used the GHD Classic Styler. Also, don't be fooled by those kiosks in the mall claiming their flat irons are the only ones designed to curl and straighten. See a video tutorial for flat iron curls HERE. 1. 3. 5. 7. 9. 11. Lovely flat iron waves! Recommended Products:

How To Make Hair Grow Faster – and Other Healthy Hair Tips By Alexis Wolfer We all want shiny, healthy, flowing hair. Sure, some of it is genetic and some of it has to do with how we treat it (the products we use, styling tools we rely on) but a lot of it also has to do with how you feed it. No, we’re not talking about DIY hair masks (although you can click here for that!). According to the “ healthy hair experts ” at Infusium 23, eating a well balanced diet is the key to unlocking beautiful hair. Salmon is loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B-12 and iron, all of which keep hair lustrous and strong and the scalp well moisturized so hair doesn’t appear dull and dry. Dark green vegetables (think spinach and broccoli!) Beans are rich in protein and promote healthy hair growth. Nuts carry many benefits for hair! Poultry is a great source of protein. Hair static solutions too! Eggs are also a great source of protein and contain biotin and vitamin B-12 which are both essential to hair health. Cucumbers are not only rich in water, but also silica.

page 11 Recently I realized that we’ve never really had a specific chat about hair serums. There are so many different formulas from silicone-based, to alcohol free, to natural, to curl enhancing, etc… All of them promise to deliver mega shine on the driest, dullest hair. But there’s more to it than that. I thought it would be fun to break down 8 of my favorites (each being my jam for a different reason), tell you what I’ve experienced with each and tell you who I would recommend them for. I tend to apply some sort of serum on almost every head of hair that I curl which I think is a major contributor to why my curls get so perfectly piece-y. I think the only real way to gauge your love for a hair serum is to put a drop in your palm and try it on your hair! 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6: L’Oreal EverStyle Smooth + Shine Serum: This is an awesome budget friendly alternative! 7. 8.

Hair Tutorial: The Perfect Mermaid Curls Although “perfect” is a relative term, this method for curling hair is pretty much perfect by my standards, mostly because it isn’t fussy. While I’m a sucker for both ringlets and Californian waves, I like my own curls somewhere in between: relaxed but bouncy. Mermaid-like. Supplies: 1″ curling iron, brush, and hair sprayTime: 45 minutes (for thick hair) All of the magic happens with Revlon’s “Helen of Troy” ceramic 1″ curling iron. Tiny Polaroid Magnets | { Ambrosia Creative } Hi there! It’s felt like forever since I’ve last blogged, and has felt like an eternity since I’ve done anything crafty and nifty. Since my morning sickness has gone into full speed (yes, we’re expecting our third this fall!) I haven’t felt like myself. I came across these DIY Pantone chip magnets on How About Orange and wanted to do something similar. You will need: Cardboard (mine was the backing of a sketchbook — much thicker than the back of a regular spiral bound notebook) or 2-3 sheets of white cardstock or poster board spray-mounted together to use as a sturdy backing to the magnetsOpaque white marker (necessary only if your cardboard is not white) Craft knife Metal straight edge/ruler Clear packing tape or frisk film. Step 1: Download a Photoshop file of the Polaroid frames below. Step 2: Print out photos onto photo paper. Step 3: Spray the back of your sheet of photos and also the cardboard with spray mount. Step 4: Trim out photos with craft knife. 487 Comments

All this while hopefully adding some value to what is read in new ideas, unheard suggestions or simply by giving reminders of what might be known dead inside you already. I certainly find that in reading lists from other people. This was my most difficult list I’ve made after admiring sproutwatches.com and while I was hoping to make a list of 100 ways to be more humble, I really struggled coming up with unique ideas that didn’t have too much overlap and were not just a large list of different words or minor actions to be more humble. Please have a look at my short series from 2 years ago on being humble in the article pages here or from the free PDF download in my resources area, called, Being Humble. Artwork by Adam Stone
