AMAZING PHOTOS OF INDIA TOUR: Prince Charles' wife Camilla takes part in DANCE routine The Duchess of Cornwall was moved close to tears today when she was shown round a centre for abused and abandoned children. She met children as young as a three-day-old baby abandoned by its teenage mother and teenagers who had been raped and sexually abused. Despite the horrific stories it was still a joyous and colourful occasion. The Duchess was greeted by a group of dancers in jewel-coloured saris with flowers in their hair, who even managed to persuade her to try out some of their dance moves. Emotional trip: Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall poses with students during a visit to the Asha Sadan children's home in Mumbai. The Duchess was shown round a residential block for the centre's youngest residents, where photographers were banned. Meeting a group of children aged three and under, one little boy who was unable to walk dragged himself on his stomach over to her and pulled himself to his feet to be able to greet Camilla. She gently touched his hand and the boy smiled, delighted.

Delhi A union territory, the political administration of the NCT of Delhi today more closely resembles that of a state of India, with its own legislature, high court and an executive council of ministers headed by a Chief Minister. New Delhi is jointly administered by the federal government of India and the local government of Delhi, and is the capital of the NCT of Delhi. Delhi has been continuously inhabited since the 6th century BC.[7] Through most of its history, Delhi has served as a capital of various kingdoms and empires. It has been captured, ransacked and rebuilt several times, particularly during the medieval period, and the modern Delhi is a cluster of a number of cities spread across the metropolitan region. This is why Delhi is sometimes called the City of cities. Toponymy and idioms[edit] There are a number of legends associated with the origin of the name Delhi. History[edit] The ancient Yogmaya temple, claimed to be one of the five temples of the Mahabharata era in Delhi.

Film Workshops / Events | YES! i am the Change 2013 | ‘Do you believe stories can change the world’? Stories like that of a grandfather who has been giving roses to random hospital patients for last 13 years, or of an engineering student who distributes footwear to people in streets from his own pocket money or about a disabled person who has adopted 13 elders as his parents and serves them food every day? Every life has a story. If we had just one story to tell, which our grandchildren will hear generations from now, what would we want it to be? Stories of fear, cynicism and hatred or would we want it to be of love, kindness and generosity? When enough of us will start sharing real stories that gives us hope, then we believe it will not only change the world but it will transform us. We visited cities across India and had the privilege of sharing such stories, watching inspiring films together, conducting film workshop but more importantly connecting with each other. Here’s the schedule of our visits to different cities: Ahmedabad, Gujarat

“What do you actually do over there?” | Smile Each Moment “What do you actually do over there?” – People have asked me this question about a million times. Besides traveling on the weekends and hanging out with my friends at night, I am working for a Non-Government Organization (NGO) called The Blue Bird Foundation (TBBF). The Blue Bird Foundation India aims to create a strong local culture of implementing the values of kindness, acceptance and equality into Vadodara. The foundation works tirelessly towards creating positive change in the city of Vadodara, especially focusing on the education of underprivileged children. In terms of my concrete work with the kids this means I am singing ABC songs, playing number games and other educational games all day long in order to enhance the kids’ general knowledge and to catch up on what most Indian municipal (public) schools miss out on. Teaching the community kids origami They also love painting… …drawing… …and crafting. They are really concentrated when doing their artwork… …and with Maria. Like this:

Pre-Trip Reading & Travel Plans for India At the age of 15, I desperately wanted to attend a party at a friend’s place. Quebec high school runs from Grades 7 to 11, and the event was set to host not only us measly Grade 8 students, but also the older grades in school. My mother was kind enough to say I could go, but she required that I be home by 11pm. In retrospect this seems quite reasonable. At 15, not so much. Putting my hands on my hips and staring her in the eye, I retorted, “Let me get this straight: there are hospital procedures I can get under Quebec law without your consent, but I can’t stay out past 11?” Let’s just say no one was surprised when I was accepted into law school at the age of 18. My mother dug this up when I was home last week. And let’s also say that while I certainly could have been a worse kid, I definitely had a mouth on me, and my mother definitely got the brunt of it. Next up: India I’m not taking her to India to make amends for being a snotty adolescent, of course. High up on the list was India.
