I made a faux capiz shell flower pendant light. This was one of the most time-consuming projects I’ve done, but I just worked on it a little bit each day. Some people read or crochet in the evenings to unwind and relax. I cut out petals for my pendant light. I still need to make one more, so it’s a good thing I find the process relaxing and enjoyable! I love how it turned out! Here’s how I made it… My mom used to have two of these faux capiz shell lights in her living room… When we redecorated her house a few years back, she took them down and put them in storage. While I love just about any type of chandelier or pendant light made with capiz shells, my favorite ones are the round flower lights. So I decided to use the glass globe and the shade holder from my mom’s old lights and create my own. It took me a while to find the perfect material to make my petals. I love how it turned out!

DIY / récup boite à oeufs Mercredi 6 mars 2013 3 06 /03 /Mars /2013 08:03 J'aimerais beaucoup faire du papier mâché, mais je suis souvent découragée par le temps que ça prend, alors j'ai trouvé une manière de faire comme si... le papier carton des boites à oeufs est résistant et en même temps tendre, donc je me dis que ça doit fonctionner à la machine à coudre, (ne pas faire un point trop serré au risque que ça coupe le carton.) et nul besoin de mouiller la matière. Je teste et je suis ravie car une fois remplie de ouate, la chose prend du volume. Bon je suis limitée par rapport au papier mâché c'est vrai, mais j'ai d'autres idées à vous montrer. Ensuite vient la peinture, j'utilise de la gouache, je peins en marron foncé une première couche, une fois sec, j'applique avec les mains la couleur finale, le marron ressort grâce au gaufrage du carton, pour la finition, soit rien et ça reste mat, soit du vernis à gouache ou bien de la cire et même du cirage aussi, j'ai mis du blanc à chaussure pour patiner le coeur. bon mercredi

To provide enough power to feed this hungry beast, we will need a powerful battery that is designed for high discharge applications and compact and lightweight, this is a portable flashlight after all (rules out lead acid). The obvious solution to both of these requirements is a Lithium Polymer battery (Li-Po). But wait... the LED needs 33 volts and the battery is only 11.1 volts?! Next up we have the battery alarm. In this design, I decided to use 2 switches, one master power switch and one switch just for the LED.
