Create a Retro Triangular Pattern Design in Illustrator

Create a Retro Triangular Pattern Design in Illustrator
Follow this step by step Illustrator tutorial to create the popular retro style pattern design made up of lots of colourful squares and triangles. The process is pretty simple, making this a good tutorial for newcomers to Adobe Illustrator. We’ll be using tools to accurately align our elements, then see how the Pathfinder can easily create custom shapes. The pattern we’ll be creating is this cool retro inspired somewhat mosaic like design. The mix of squares and triangles along with the limited colour palette attracts the eye with cool illusions. View the final retro pattern design Open up Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Repeatedly press CMD+D to repeat the last transformation until the width of the artboard is filled with evenly spaced lines. Repeat the process, but this time with a horizontal line. Next, draw a diagonal line at 45 degrees across the artboard. Hit Enter to bring up the Move options and enter 20mm in both the Horizontal and Vertical fields. Related:  technicalTutoriales

Essential JavaScript Design Patterns For Beginners I would like to thank Rebecca Murphey for inspiring me to open-source this mini-book and release it for free download and distribution - making knowledge both open and easily available is something we should all strive for where possible. I would also like to extend my thanks to the very talented Alex Sexton who was kind enough to be the technical reviewer for this publication. I hope that it helps you learn more about design patterns and the usefulness of their application to JavaScript. Volume 2 of Essential JavaScript Design Patterns is currently being written and will be more detailed than this first edition. The ETA for it's online release is late Q4, 2011. At the beginning of this book I will be focusing on a discussion about the importance and history of design patterns in any programming language. One of the most important aspects of writing maintainable code is being able to notice the recurring themes in that code and optimize them. Patterns are not an exact solution.

Building Interactive Scrolling Websites with ScrollMagic.js ScrollMagic is a jQuery plugin which lets you use the scrollbar like a playback scrub control. Using this, you can build some extremely beautiful landing pages and websites. Normally, we wouldn’t do a tutorial on using a single jQuery plugin, but scrollMagic does a lot and has quickly become one of my favorite plugins. In this article, I’ll cover my general opinion on scroll plugins, how to get started with ScrollMagic, and some basic and over-the-top creative demos. Finally, some starter templates for you to repurpose are in works to be released very soon in part II of this tutorial. I’m not a fan of hijacking a users scroll period. Notice that with the Google Cardboard site you can quickly navigate up and down, but with fullPage.js you’re actually restricted and delayed on your scrolling. Lastly, if you check out ScrollMagic’s demo page you’ll see a ton of crazy animations. Here’s a little sample of one of the things we’ll be able to build: # Initial Setup jQuery Official Resource <! if (!

Design a three-colour Risograph print Risograph is a similar process to screenprinting, where one colour is printed at a time and a limited colour palette is used. There are hundreds of different ways to prepare your artwork for Risograph printing, but I’ve found an efficient method that suits my way of working and illustration style, which we’ll walk through here. In this tutorial we’ll prepare a three-colour print – when overprinted these can create a fourth colour – that’s ready to be brought to life using a Risograph printer. Once mastered, you can experiment with this technique and adapt it to your creative process to create unique prints of your own. 01 First of all research and then sketch out your illustration. 02 Launch Photoshop and open your new file (File>Open). 03 Once you’re happy with how well you’ve cleaned up the scan, open the file in Illustrator and select the Pen tool. 04 Zoom into the image and start drawing in the lines. 06 Delete the background sketch and group the new vector drawing.

Easiest parallax in the world - Valdelama Almost no CSS and a couple of lines of Jquery are all you need for this extremely simple parallax demo. This is not really something I would recommend to use on a production site but it's a very good way to start to understand how you can write your own parallax. Warning: the demo is very basic and that's on purpose, the idea here is to really understand exactly what's going on so I have kept the code to an absolute minimum. This means that looking through the source code shouldn't be confusing for anyone. With the warning over check out the demo. In the demo the black and white Pulp Fiction poster moves upwards at half the speed at which you scroll. $(window).scroll(function() { var scroll = $(window).scrollTop(); $(".parallax").css("transform","translateY(" + (scroll/2) + "px)");}); What's going on here? There isn't really any important CSS going on here, I gave the div below the image position:relative just to make sure that it stayed above the image.

How To Create Wet Plate Collodion Styled Images In Photoshop (My Tutorial) I’m sure this will cause a bit of stir in the photography community, but retouching images is my kind of art creating something original. This is the first of hopefully many retouching and photography tutorials that I will be doing over the next months. This tutorial is about wet plate collodion images which I’ve been trying to find a way to emulate in post production. For me, the basic photograph is the starting point and I try to capture people as they are. More info: anttikarppinen.com

Sus creadores nos explican su funcionamiento: FFS is a small side project to explore the possibilities to make art with code.Admit it, 3D is cool.

The Ultimate Guide to the Dodge & Burn Technique - Part 1: The Fundamentals Dodge & Burn (D&B) is a technique that came to us from the darkroom days when luminosity values in a photo could be only manipulated by the duration of the exposure of the light sensitive photographic paper. And while there’s so much that have already been published about it, I hope we can still shed some light on the aspects of it that are usually not mentioned in retouching tutorials. UPDATE (May 2014): check out my article The Ultimate Guide To The Frequency Separation Technique Part 2 of this article: The Ultimate Guide to the Dodge & Burn Technique – Part 2: Setting Up For A Good Start Part 3 of this article: The Ultimate Guide to the Dodge & Burn Technique – Part 3: Curves Setup & More Wikipedia: Dodging and burning are terms that come from analog photography, it is a technique used during the printing process to manipulate the exposure of a selected area(s) on a photographic print, deviating from the rest of the image's exposure. Illustrator's Live Trace: Sketch to Vector - Smashing Magazine Advertisement In this post we will take a drawn design, scan it and clean it up in Photoshop, then trace it using the Live Trace feature in Adobe Illustrator. Live Trace was introduced in Adobe Illustrator CS2 but is still a powerful tool available in Illustrator CS5. This process really gives an artist the freedom to digitally experiment with drawings of any kind. The vector art it produces can be used in numerous ways and is easily customized.
