Revolutionaries: A Project for Fall! Hello my blog friends! I'm so pumped to share a project I finished today! It's simple, cheap, quick, and fall-y (yes, that is a word). Anyway... I've been diligently collecting these for what seems like forever: Why? [Side note: please pin from the original source so the credit goes to the right person! But I also love projects involving trees/branches like these: Then, I saw this yesterday and even though it's not made from toilet paper rolls, I thought, hmm.... color behind the toilet paper rolls? So basically... What you need: 1. 3. How to do it: 1. 2. 3. 4. 4. 5. 6. It's so.. fall. And I love that I used things I already had in my craft stuff and I recycled toilet paper rolls! Would it be bad to keep it up all year? Update: here are some more pictures that I took in better lighting! Looking for more toilet paper projects?

Lackadaisy Expressions Boy, I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I started this. I've had requests for some sort of expressions tutorial dating back a while now, so I figured, "Sure! I can explain expression drawing...and it'll be way better than all those tutorials out there that are nothing but charts of generic expressions. Yeah! Just give me a day or two to whip something up..." Um. Anyway, I found all I could really do was try to explain ways to teach yourself...and then add some pictures. DIY Vintage Photo Frame Vintage things are very fashionable and look cool. Such a photo frame with black and white photos would raise your spirits every day. The supplies are: a bare wood frame, two 8×10 black and white photos, DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paint in Snow (Titanium) White, a sponge brush, steel wool, Sticky Tak and some Washi Tape. The crafting is rather simple, don’t forget to dry-brush the frame before starting the work. Such a frame would save your memories for a long time and, of course, would be a great addition to any interior. A detailed instruction of crafting and how to give such a look to the frame is here. Book Cover from a Vintage Painting DIY Jun 14 Here is a project I put together where you can make a journal or sketchbook out of a thrift store painting. It is a really simple process and gives a big payoff–a really special journal or sketchbook. It’s one of those projects that the first time will take you 25 minutes and then every time after will take about 10 minutes. These make very special gifts to give friends or just keep to yourself. In college I learned some bookbinding and the actual sewing of the pages can take a whole afternoon. Materials Needed: Painting on canvas (I get mine from thrift stores), Paper Source book kit (I used this one), pencil, bone folder, exacto knife, a large brush , archival glue , ruler, and a cutting mat. Step 1: Remove the canvas from the stretchers by cutting along the border with an exacto knife. More instruction after the jump. Step 5: Turn the canvas over (if it is easier) and measure out 7/8″ from the top of the book board and the bottom, then cut along your marks.

How to Update a Hand Me Down Dresser - StumbleUpon I love gift-wrap and I also love anything and everything having to do with typefaces. So it is no surprise to me that I have had my eye on this vintage typographer gift-wrap ever since Emily over at Jones Design Company posted about it as well as many other pretty papers she uses. I wanted to find a way I could use this gift-wrap where I could enjoy the pattern in my daily life instead of only wrapping gifts with it and giving it away. When I started to update my guest room I got an idea on how I could incorporate it into the room. The gift-wrap comes in 20” x 28” sheets that cost $4.00 each. I needed 3 to cover the top of my dresser and the drawer pulls. Before This piece of hand me down furniture looks nice in this photo, but the top and left side have cracks in them. supplies needed: My color scheme for the room: white, beige, tan, black, and purple. I painted the dresser white first. Since the gift-wrap has a tan background, I wanted to add a bit of it into the pulls. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

What can you do with an old pallet? So many things!
