Try it for your next birthday party, they're so much fun :) Materials: *empty egg shells (as many as you want)*glue*toothpicks*tissue paper(any color to match your event)*confetti* What to do: *Once you have a good amount of empty egg shells, set a building line with the other materials*take each egg shell and fill it with confetti*add glue to the top edges helping yourself with a toothpick*paste the tissue paper to the top that will act as a lid* And that's it!! Other sinks by Elkay come in all kinds of innovative forms with various purposes. Three Boys, One Room « the bumper crop It took a while, but we finally got the boys’ room done! I was inspired once again by Ana White. When the time came for August to switch to a big boy bed, we decided to put all three boys in the same room. We used the plans for the hanging daybed and modified them just a bit. This is Sam’s bed. The bed linens are from Ikea, including this embroidered map of the world pillow. August sleeps on the bottom and Jeremiah sleeps on top. Jeremiah has a ladder and a rope that he can climb to get in bed. Jeremiah takes art as his elective at school and I framed one of the stamp prints that he made. The corner under Jeremiah’s bed- table from Ikea, vintage lamp from a garage sale, with some books and a few toys. This is the artwork by August’s bed. The first few weeks I spent several hours sleeping outside each night – on a new dog bed. Believe it or not, it was comfortable, and every time I saw a swinging porch bed I promise myself “one day, one day.” This architectural version is made from old porch railings and is the most popular design available from a favorite local home store. Organizing Made Fun Less is the New More: Making the Most of Small Spaces Good Design For Living in Small ApartmentsAs people migrate to smaller spaces, good design helps a lot. This is something they figured out in Europe long ago, that if you don't have a lot of horizontal room you can go vertical. Tumidei in Italy makes some of the nicest stuff, like this unit with lots of storage under the bed. This unit just raises the floor high enough for beds to slide under. This one looks a bit clinical, but has two single beds plus a pull-out double bed in between. None of this stuff is cheap, nor, as far as I can tell is it available in North America, but there are ideas here that demonstrate how people can share a space and still get a little privacy, a good place to work and a lot of storage in a very small envelope.
