The hand The hands are a notorious source of frustration. This section won't concentrate on the muscle structure, since the hand is very complex in this regard, and knowing this won't help much in drawing them. Instead, we'll look at proportions, range of motion, and possible simplifications. Structure and proportions Figure 2.20. Bone structure and proportions of the hand

Art Consultant/ art agent? I've worked quite a bit with art consultants. Some (the best ones) don't take a commission from the artist -- they are paid by the corporation that hires them to find art. I used to have slides/images on file with a bunch of them, and now I have scaled back because many of them weren't able to sell anything. One danger (if you are short on inventory) is consigning too much work out to consultants who are not good at what they do (or your work does not fit into whatever their business model is). The pieces end up sitting there for months or years until you request them back.

How To Draw A Wave This art tutorial, kindly donated by surfing comic strip illustrator and surf artist Bob Penuelas covers how to draw a wave the Wilbur Kookmeyer way! If you're like me, then you've probably spent a lot of time in high school class daydreaming and doodling a thousand perfect cartoon waves in your notebook. It's safe to say that ninety percent of us surfers have a habit of scribbling perfect waves whenever a pencil is in our hands. Hopefully the following pointers will help you change your throw-away wave doodles into actual compelling artwork that you want to keep forever.

DRAWING GRASS (Negative Drawing techniques)at MIKE SIBLEY FINE ART What do you see when you look at this picture on the right? Do you see an ancient black drinking cup? Maybe an ebony candlestick holder? These are the positive images. The Collapse of Cohesion on Behance This series of 7 large and 12 small drawings as well as 2 installations includes various elements from Van Veluw’s boyhood bedroom. Whereas the previous series incorporated themes of control, order and structure, in these works we witness the disintegration of these elements. Order turns into chaos. Visions of collapsing desks, falling cupboards and exploding cabinets mark the moment of disruption. Human structures are affected by forces of nature such as gravity, water and wind and in this way realigned into a new, natural order of things.Although these works play on our fascination for destruction and need for disorder, they do possess an inherent compositional equilibrium. The physics of falling objects has a logic that is bound by rules.

perspective in the world The Light Environment. We start with the light environment as a viewer would experience it naturally. The space around the viewer is filled with a dense, rich scattering of light, coming at him from all directions and distances, reflected from every surface and even scattered by the atmosphere. How to Draw Constructing: For Makers One method for manipulating simple shapes to create more complex figures is my cutting away or subtracting material. I like to think of constructing a drawing the same way as sculpting clay. You start with a basic "block" of material and then "find" your final shape inside by cutting away and adding material as needed.

Human Figure Drawing Proportions START WITH A (3 x 4) OVAL. Divide this head like this:The top of the skull. The pupils are in the middle of the head, top to bottom. The bottom of the nose is 1.5 eye widths from the eye line.1 eye width below the nose is between the lips.1/3 below between the lips and the chin is the chin crease.I started with an oval that fit on my skull's front view. My horizontal center line of the skull dividing the top to bottom is between the pupils. My head is 5 eyes wide not including my ears. When drawing the head I consider the horizontal eye line the center of the head. I believe the ear gets longer with age.
