The BlockCAD Home Page The Grammar of Doom-gioco The Grammar of Doom is an adventure game. This means that it has some images and ideas (like death) that may upset very sensitive or young children. We recommend that such children be guided by an adult who has previously checked this material. If don't want to continue, click here Have they gone? Okay, for the rest of you - here's the story.

Class journals The aim of this lesson plan is to introduce the writing journal into the class, as a different kind of class writing activity, which can become an additional tool in order to help students develop their writing skills. What is a journal? Let me first start by defining what I mean by a journal in this lesson plan. This is a similar idea to a ‘learner diary’, where students regularly reflect on what they have learnt in classes, and the way that activities in class have helped them to learn. Nick Peachey has written in TeachingEnglish about using learner diaries in this way. Essentially, the journal I describe here includes both of the above ideas, as well as others. The journal, therefore, is not used for any one, specific purpose. What is the goal of journal writing? What, then, is the point of the journal? Why is this so? What kind of journal? Ideally a student’s journal will be a fairly thin, lightweight notebook. How do you respond to the journal writing? Using a correction code 1.

TeachMeet International – Games to learn « ¡Vámonos! I’ve just finished presenting at TeachMeet International, an online Teachmeet bringing together educators from across the world. Unfortunately the meeting was blighted by technical issues but we managed to get around them in various ways in order to share our ideas and experiences. My presentation was on using games in language learning. I talked about games that are easy to organise, games that take you out of the classroom and then moved on to talk about two apps – 4 Pictures 1 Words and PicCombo that I think are really useful for vocabulary at an intermediate/advanced level. Below is the Slideshare and you will be able to see it and other presentations (hopefully with sound!) soon via the link that will be posted on the TeachMeetInternational website.
