High Speed Liquid and Bubble Photographs by Heinz Maier It never ceases to amaze me: just when I think I’ve seen every possible permutation of an artform or technique—be it figurative sculpture, stop motion animation, or in this case, high speed photography—somebody comes along and manages to do something radically different. German photographer Heinz Maier says that he began taking photographs less than a year ago in late 2010. He claims to not know what direction he’s heading in just yet, right now he’s experimenting with macro photography, mostly insects, animals, and these delicate high speed water droplets. lego-slide1.jpg (JPEG Image, 580 × 352 pixels) Singapore Picture - Travel Photo January 3, 2012 Photograph by Chia Ming Chien This Month in Photo of the Day: Travel Photos The vertiginous "infinity pool" at the Marina Bay Sands resort offers a sweeping view of Singapore, a country that's achieved success while building up instead of out. Astonishing Collection of Artistic Underwater Photos Water is the universal solvent, it can dissolve almost anything in itself, including beauty, passion and art. Today, I’ll be focusing on the beauty, passion and art part. This is a collection of artistic photography taken under water, in oceans, rivers and anywhere in the waters. We have shared such conceptual photos previously, such as 30 Breath-Taking Underwater Portrait Photography and recently published Spectacular Examples of Ocean Life Photography but this post has a different flavor, it is garnished with my favorite spices; art and beauty. Water under the bridge: Crystal clear river is so clean you can see 50ft to the bottom By Suzannah Hills Published: 14:55 GMT, 5 April 2012 | Updated: 06:49 GMT, 6 April 2012 A crystal clear river is so clean that the 50ft deep riverbed can be seen from a bridge crossing over the water. The 30km long Verzasca River in Switzerland is renowned all over the world for its clear turquoise waters. But while pictures of the sparkling waters are often taken from the mountains surrounding the river or from bridges crossing over it, it's much rarer to see photographs taken from the bottom of it. Under the bridge: This stunning photo by Claudio Gazzaroli, 38, shows the arched Roman Bridge crossing over the Verzasca River in Switzerland from 50ft under water From the bottom of the deep: The Verzasca Riverbed can be seen with startling clarity because the water is so crystal clear Photographer, Claudio Gazzaroli, 38, visited the river where he came across the arched bridge known as the 'Roman Bridge'. 'I wanted to show the beauty of this place in a new way,' said Claudio. Fancy a dip?
Animals' Eyes Up Close Husky Suren Manvelyan, is a bit of a jack of all trades. He has a PhD in Theoretical Physics specializing in Quantum Chaos but has recently turned his attention to photographing the amazing detailed landscapes of eyes. With such close photos, one is able to see details such as the irises' color gradients, textures, patterns and even tiny blood vessels, causing these eyes to look like alien landscapes.
