END GENDERED SLURS CAMPAIGN: Proposal (Rape and gendered slurs content warning) endgenderedslurs: What is this campaign about?This project will address the problem of the casual use of gendered slurs, which are centered on the shaming of women and the devaluation of femininity. Additionally, I will address the widespread use of gendered slurs in the media, raise questions as to why comedians use these words, and why they receive an overall positive response from viewers. The aim of this project is to not only analyze gendered slurs and why their use is so widespread, but also to raise awareness and spark a reflection in people that helps them recognize how often gendered slurs slip into their everyday conversation, and how that use can effect slut shaming, victim blaming, physical assault, and rape.
