Scalloped Hasselback Potatoes “Scalloped” is an attractive word, isn’t it? When I hear it I think of several things: first, there’s scallops, as in the seafood—totally delicious. Then there’s the scalloped shape that can live on the edge of a pair of shorts or on the collar of a woman’s blouse—always pretty and dainty. And of course scalloped potatoes also comes to mind, which carries my imagination to a land of crispy potato skins drenched in a sea of cheese and cream. I can think of no better place to exist, actually. So when I came across TK member Shelbi Keith’s recipe for Scalloped Hasselback Potatoes, I knew we were going to become fast friends.

I took these up to school for Teacher Appreciation week and was blushing at the compliments.

Sweet sandwich ganache Recipe from Adventures with Chocolate by Paul A. Young (Kyle Books, 2012) Most of us, at some point in our lives, have eaten a chocolate-spread sandwich. italian sodas June 30, 2011 | Sweet Recipes | Comments Growing up, these Italian sodas were my favorite!! My mom and I would always stop by a little coffee shack on our road trips to Oregon. I remember ordering the blueberry Italian soda in the summer instead of ice cream because they were so refreshing. I hadn’t had one of these since I was a kid, so I wanted to recreate the easy recipe. I even made my own blueberry and strawberry syrup instead of using Torani. Better-Than-Crack-Brownies I’m sorry for doing this to you. I really am. But see, last Friday while I was on a 10-hour road trip heading for vacation, I received this recipe from a reader named Liz. Liz, I love you. That’s all I have to say. I was tortured by this recipe for a full 8 days before I could make it.

Sweet Pea's Kitchen - StumbleUpon Snickerdoodle Muffins I have been obsessed with Pinterest lately! Pinning this and that all while trying not to drool all over my computer. While I like pinning lots of different things, as you can imagine, I love pinning recipes. A picture of snickerdoodle muffins kept popping up all over my Pinterest page just begging me to make them. Martha Stewarts Cookies and Cream Cheesecakes Recipe Posted by Grace Massa Langlois on Wednesday, 21st July 2010 I have yet to meet a person who doesn’t like Oreo cookies or Cream Cheesecake Cupcakes. Who could resist cream-filled chocolate sandwich cookies? Not Me! Especially the double-stuffed Oreo cookie, it’s one of the best cookies for dunking into a cold glass of milk. I went out yesterday to do my weekly shop, came home, and before I was able to bring in the first grocery bag Matt was hunting for the cookies and cream ice cream.

Treat of the Week: Baklava with Nutella Glaze Sometimes when I set out to make the treat of the week, I am surprised that I haven’t presented it here already. That is the case with today’s treat. I have been moving this post along in the calendar for months now, and today is finally its day to shine. Baklava is one of those desserts you’ve seen, maybe eaten, and possibly thought that is much too complicated for me to make. I am here to assure you that it is far easier than you may think. Apple Pies I know, I’ve made a few pies lately. But see how these are different? Look at how adorable these are! I mean, come on. Could you resist? I sure couldn’t.

Pizza Braid A pizza braid is very kid-friendly, easy on the wallet and extremely simple to make. My aunt and cousin first introduced me to them and I’ve been hooked ever since. The possibilities are endless of the varieties you could make (check out the Apple Dessert Braid!), but the recipe below is for a very basic hamburger and pepperoni braid. You could make your own dough, but I prefer the shortcut of using Rhodes rise and bake dough.

Pip & Ebby - Pip &Ebby - Crack&brownies - StumbleUpon Have you ever tried crack? Yeah, me either. After eating these brownies, though, I feel like I would probably be less addicted to crack. I mean, how can that not be the case with brownies, peanuts, marshmallows, Reese's peanut butter cups, chocolate, peanut butter and Rice Krispies all present in a single bite?!
