Beatles Timeline A very noteworthy entry into this Beatles Timeline: On this date, Paul McCartney performs a free concert before an unprecedented crowd of "around 500,000" at the Coliseum in Rome. Said Paul, "I'm completely blown away - it was one of the most fantastic evenings of my life and I'm so chuffed that at my stage in the game this was the biggest show of my entire career," wrote the Daily Post. The day before, Paul held a charity concert at the Coliseum before a crowd of 400 people who paid up to $1,485 in an internet auction for tickets. Proceeds of $285,000 were raised from the concert and will go towards "Adopt-A-Minefield" and to archaeological projects in Rome.

These pioneering promotional films and videos helped to define the way we have come to watch music, not least because The Beatles approached filming with the same ease and innovative spirit they brought to the recording studio, exploring new creative possibilities with infectious delight.

A Guide to the Strange, Little-Known, Hard-to-Find Beatles Christmas Recordings Little in my life has enriched me more than the Beatles or Christmas—in different (and yet dovetailing) ways. And there is one enriching aspect of the Beatles’ catalog that is so rare, that it falls between the worlds of official product and bootleg. This wasn’t a commercial record, it wasn’t a bootleg, it was its own thing, like the holiday season itself. I’m talking about the band’s annual Christmas message to the members of their fan club. The recordings—which are usually in the five- or six-minute range—were first sent out in 1963 on what were called flexi discs, to the people who had a big hand in getting the Beatles where the Beatles then presently were. Which is to say, massive in England, poised for global domination, and poised, too, to leave their original brigade of backers behind.

Julian Lennon - the Official Website - Official Julian Lennon Website The Beatles The Beatles were an English rock band that formed in Liverpool, in 1960. With John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the greatest and most influential act of the rock era.[1] Rooted in skiffle, beat and 1950s rock and roll, the Beatles later experimented with several genres, ranging from pop ballads to psychedelic and hard rock, often incorporating classical elements in innovative ways. In the early 1960s, their enormous popularity first emerged as "Beatlemania", but as their songwriting grew in sophistication they came to be perceived as an embodiment of the ideals shared by the era's sociocultural revolutions. History 1957–62: formation, Hamburg, and UK popularity In March 1957, John Lennon, then aged sixteen, formed a skiffle group with several friends from Quarry Bank school.
