The Libri of Aleister Crowley

The Libri of Aleister Crowley
Aleister Crowley (Oct. 12, 1875–Dec. 1, 1947) – however one judges him – was a fascinating man who lived an amazing life. He is best known as being an infamous occultist and the scribe of The Book of the Law, which introduced Thelema to the world. Crowley was an influential member in several occult organizations, including the Golden Dawn, the A∴A∴, and Ordo Templi Orientis. He was a prolific writer and poet, a world traveler, mountaineer, chess master, artist, yogi, social provocateur, drug addict and sexual libertine. The press loved to demonize him and dubbed Crowley “The wickedest man in the world.” — From “Aleister Crowley” on Thelemapedia See also: Θέλημα – Thelema There are so many documents on the site related to the Thelema of Aleister Crowley that it can sometimes be difficult to know where to start, so here are a few first steps Centres of Pestilence Commentaries on Liber AL vel Legis, The Book of the Law, by various authors Aleister Crowley Books Aleister Crowley books at Amazon

The Book of the Dead. Bound in human flesh and inked in blood, this ancient Sumerian text contained bizarre burial rights, funeral incantations, and demon resurrection passages; it was never meant for the world of the living. With these words in the opening sequence of ARMY OF DARKNESS, Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) described the most famous book of evil of all time. This is also, I believe, the version of the Necronomicon horror film fans are most immediately familiar with. The actual history of the Necronomicon, however, is as strange and twisted as any piece of fiction ever birthed from the mind of man.

Ordo Templi Orientis History - Bill Heidrick Ordo Templi Orientis was founded before 1902 e.v. by Karl Kellner and Theodore Reuss (also known as Merlin) in Germany, with a principal mailing address in Lugano, Switzerland by 1917 e.v. The immediate precursor organization was the Hermetic Brotherhood of Light, a mystical society founded in the mid 19th century, with branches in Europe and North America. Emerald Tablet of Hermes Sacred-Texts Esoteric Index Previous Next The Emerald Tablet of Hermes History of the Tablet History of the Tablet (largely summarised from Needham 1980, & Holmyard 1957) The Tablet probably first appeared in the West in editions of the psuedo-Aristotlean Secretum Secretorum which was actually a translation of the Kitab Sirr al-Asar, a book of advice to kings which was translated into latin by Johannes Hispalensis c. 1140 and by Philip of Tripoli c.1243. Other translations of the Tablet may have been made during the same period by Plato of Tivoli and Hugh of Santalla, perhaps from different sources.

V-Library - Veritas The V-Library (Veritas Library) is an online collection of e-books by various authorities in the field of metaphysics and the occult. All the e-books are free for use and are public domain resources. "The idea for this came to me when seeing the Bob Hendricks Memorial CM Library on OccultForums and after seeing the Sacred Magick website fall victim to bandwidth strangulation. I figured veritas could use a Library for each of its varied subjects. A post will be made in Psionics, Body Energy Arts, Magick and Spirituality after I find enough files to make a decent post. Alchemy The Emerald Tablet, a key text of Western Alchemy, in a 17th-century edition Alchemy is an influential philosophical tradition whose practitioners have, from antiquity, claimed it to be the precursor to profound powers. The defining objectives of alchemy are varied, but historically have typically included one or more of the following goals: the creation of the fabled philosopher's stone; the ability to transform base metals into the noble metals (gold or silver); and development of an elixir of life, which would confer youth and longevity.

Gnostic Society Library: Sources on Gnosticism and Gnosis Almost all of the several dozen internet sites with collections of texts similar to our own obtained their material by directly or indirectly copying some files present at the Gnosis Archive. Ours was perhaps the first major collection of such texts to appear on "the web" in 1994, and thus has served as a source for others creating "their own" collections. Unfortunately transcription errors, typos, and primitive HTML formatting were present in the massive amount of material added to the Gnosis Archive in our first years; in a repeated process of "copying" they have been very widely propagated around the internet. Over nearly two decades we have made many corrections to these texts. It appears that few of the sites copying material from this collection have taken the time to read, edit and correct the texts!

Affiliation We were established in 1966 c.e. by Anton Szandor LaVey, who declared it the Year One, Anno Satanas, thus opening the floodgates to a revolution designed to smash the hypocrisy and unreason of organized religions and mystical philosophies of either Right or Left-Hand paths. We stand as a formidable threat to those who would halt progress in the name of spirituality and theism of any sort. We are explorers on the untrodden paths of science, human motivation and mystery—all that is most truly occult. Our primary goal is to clearly disseminate the philosophy created by Anton Szandor LaVey to those who have an interest in understanding the truth regarding our beliefs and practices, and to encourage individuals who embrace Satanism to utilize this perspective as a means for enhancing their lives and for leaving a legacy of creativity that demonstrates to human society the potency of our diabolical perspective. Join the Church of Satan We are looking for a few outstanding individuals.
