Sew Old Pillowcases Together To Make Floor Cushions Throughout the years I have collected dozens of pillowcases. Mostly due to the fact that my tastes have changed or I've had to purchase excess pillows for visitors, I have quite the stockpile in my linen closet. Now that I'm moving into a smaller space, I won't need to keep such a large inventory of pillows and pillowcases, and I found the perfect use for them. Inspired by the Bed In A Bag from Great Life Trading Co, my pillowcases would be perfect for these floor cushions. It's such an extremely easy DIY that there's honestly no point in purchasing an already constructed one. Roundup five old pillowcases that you don't use anymore, because we all know it's much better to repurpose than buy new! This is such a great way to repurpose old pillows and pillowcases that would otherwise collect dust in the closet or end up in the trash. What do you think of this DIY floor cushion? T-shirt slippers My son loves slippers but he only wears the ones that hook on between your big toe and middle toe (These are very common in Singapore!). We decided to make t-shirt slippers - refashioned t-shirts ! I've made 3 pairs so far, and I'm planning on making two pairs each per family members so that at least we still have one to wear while the other's in the wash! Yeah, they are washable!![Update in Oct 2012: some bloggers have requested for more detail on the DIY weaving. Hope to have that out soon!] Note: This project was inspired by 小石正子 who showed me how to weave the slippers . You can use any type of material. If you want to use cotton material, you can make it into bias tape so that the fraying edges are concealed, and you have thicker material to work with. I cut my t-shirts into 7cm strips - make the most of your t-shirt!! You will need: a) Up to 2m of nylon string for adults; or 1.5m for kids (this is only approximate) b) 2 x 30 cm of nylon string for the straps

Owl Pillow Boxes Hi everyone! I finally had a moment to photograph a fun project that I worked on when I was super pregnant & super bored I saw these on Pinterest (LOVE that site!!) and I just knew I had to make them. How freaking cute are they? I followed the instructions from Gen exactly. note: please disregard the dusty table...I haven't been up to much cleaning with a newborn in the house, and go figure that my camera would pick that up, right?? You could put candy or money in these little boxes - a perfect favor for a party, birthday, get together, etc. The base of the owls are all cardstock - I went through my stash of designer paper to find matching monotone paper to use for the little feathers. All cardstock used was either Stampin Up or Papertrey Ink. Also, I wanted to send a huge THANK YOU to all of you sweet blog readers who have left so many kind & thoughtful comments for our family & little Miss Brooke. This first one is of Brooke last week sleeping on her Daddy.
30 Tage 30 Dinge An old clockwork finds a new use with Dans idea. Dan says: “In my favourite thrift store I bought some old clocks. One clock was sold for 1€ which is a lot cheaper compared to an art supply store where it would cost me 5€. Then I removed the clock works and built them into other things. Into a book for instance. On the inside I cut the pages so that there’s enough space for the clock work.
