{Valentines day} pixelated popup card I‘ve been scratching my head trying to come up with a card for my hubby {AKA the non-romantic type}. I finally decided to make this pixely popup heart card! They are really minimal (which I love) and take about 20 minutes to make (that includes the card, insert and envelope). You can even make some pixely confetti to put inside the card (if you are a big kid like me!). Full instructions and printable templates below! (BTW I remember seeing something similar in a popup book years ago. How to 1. (If you have a cutting machine then see note at end of post!) Cut along the black lines and score the grey lines. 3. 5. 7. Edited to add: The lovely Kayla from saynotsweetanne has send me a .dfx file of the card which you can use if you have a cutting machine.

How to make a Hybrid My Favorite Things Mini Album: Design House Digital I absolutely fell in love with Gennifer Bursett’s Favorite Things collection when I first saw it in the store. I knew I wanted to make a little mini book with these to document our favorite things. Have you see those popular SMASH books? I decided to make my album size 7″ x 6″.I cut 3 pieces of Chipboard, 2- 7″ x 6″ 1- 1.5″ x 7″. I cut a piece of plain canvas to 9″ x 5″ I used Claudine Hellmuth’s Matte Medium to adhere the canvas to the chipboard. I printed papers back to back on Matte Photo Paper. I trimmed the papers to 5.5″ x 6.5″I also cut some kraft paper, white textured cardstock, tracing paper.I also added some envelopes and tags. I used my bind it all to punch holes in all the papers, envelopes and tags. I cut patterned paper to line the inside covers 2- 5 7/8″ x 6 7/8″ .I rounded 2 corners on each. I loaded the pages on a 5/8″ coil (pictured on a 1″ coil before I realized it was too big d’OH!). I cut a piece of cardstock 6.5″ x 12.I scored the cardstock at 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7. last page

DIY - Rubik's Cube - Blind Man's Cube - Metal Rubiks cube This is a Rubik's cube the is shape-oriented rather than color oriented for solving in the dark or for those who are without sight. It is inspired of the now unavailable "Blind Man's Cube" that was made years ago by Politechinka. See: This cube brings a unique characteristic to solving a Rubik's cube that no other cube does... the ability to say "I solved it without even looking at it once." Rather than building hand-eye coordination, it builds hand-mind coordination. I find that solving this cube is a challenge above and beyond a normal rubik's cube. It is also a bit heavier than a normal rubik's cube... helping me build muscle/speed for my speedcubing (speedcube is where you try to solve it as fast as possible.)

the moments in between March has been a hang on for dear life sort of month. It usually is - with spring break and three birthdays, there's just really no hope of it being a laidback month. Add in 5 days out of town and teaching a class, and it's fair to say it's been a whirlwind. We celebrated the last of the birthdays yesterday. Studio Calico's April kit, Bluegrass Farm, goes up today. If you're just starting your Color Theory Collection, these are my favorite colors for this month - Deja Blue, Clean Slate and Sunny Day. My projects with the Bluegrass Farm scrapbook kit surprised me. Once I started working with Pip, however, that changed. I also had a bit of a love affair with the new label die. Project Life® and I are still settling into our new 2014 routine, and I am enjoying mixing it up. Yes, that's a star confetti die. I also started our Disney / Universal Handbook. The new Attacher Die is going to get used a LOT, both in my vacation album and my Project Life®.
