The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
The search for the absolute best chocolate chip cookie recipe has ended with the New York Times Chocolate Chip cookie recipe adapted from Jacques Torres I think it’s pretty fair to say that when most of us think of making chocolate chip cookies, we look on the yellow Nestle bag for the Toll House Cookie recipe. Recently my friend Kim had a chocolate chip cookie fail! Surely the Nestle Toll House recipe is the best known, but did you know there is a science to all that flour, sugar, eggs and chocolate? In my search for the best chocolate chip cookie recipe, it appears that The New York Times had the same question I did a few years ago, and set out on a quest for the best chocolate chip cookie recipe! I also discovered, that I must be one of the only bloggers that had not heard about this recipe! If I can help just ONE person discover it, my job will be done! A little planning and patience is needed with this recipe . The size of this cookie plays a big roll as well. Ingredients Instructions

Angel Face Cookies Guest post from Brigette Shevy To be perfectly honest, I’ve never been a fan of sugar cookies. However, these sugar cookies are an exception! Soft and buttery, these melt-in-your-mouth goodies are the perfect accompaniment to a steamy mug of cocoa, or a good book by the fireplace. They will keep for weeks in the freezer (probably longer than that, but I haven’t tried), and you can freeze them before or after baking. This recipe is one my husband grew up on, and one of those I had to get from his mom when we got married. My husband says they are in a category of their own – somewhere between a sugar cookie and snickerdoodle. If you’re looking for a classic all-around holiday cookie that uses basic ingredients, here it is! Makes 5 dozen cookies. 1 cup softened butter1 cup shortening1 2/3 cups sugar½ cup brown sugar2 eggs2 teaspoons vanilla4 cups flour2 teaspoons cream of tartar1 ½ teaspoon baking soda1 teaspoon salt Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

How To Make Perfect Brownies I’ve tried lots of brownie recipes: Boxes, scratch, frosted, plain, nuts, chips, fudge … Each of them has something to like, but depending on my mood I might want a change of pace. Not any more. My wife found this recipe, and it’s perfect. I’m done looking. This is the brownie recipe that I’ll use from now on. Ingredients 1½ cups sugar ¾ cup flour ¾ cup cocoa powder (see note below) 3 eggs ¾ cup butter, melted ½ teaspoon salt (if using unsalted butter) ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (see note below) Directions A NOTE ON CHOCOLATE: You’ll notice the list of ingredients is very short. The assembly is about as easy as you can get. Do this by hand, until the dry ingredients are just incorporated into the wet, and stop. Stir in the chocolate chips. Line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment. Pour the batter and spread it out. Bake at 325° for 20-30 minutes. Very carefully lift the parchment out of the baking dish. Peel the edges and let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Like this recipe?

Brown Butter Snickerdoodle Cookies Oct 12 Oh hey there. It’s finally Friday and I couldn’t be happier! Why? Um, because it’s the weekend which means I can cook the five butternut squashes sitting on my counter, drink wine, definitely bake a cake or something, YouTube Joe Biden’s laugh during the debates, catch up on Dexter, go to the apple orchard and make pie, get a pedicure, run until my legs fall off because my best friend just told me we’re running a race in TWO WEEKS, eat a kale salad because I’m trying to be healthy, and do the obvious stalking of Trader Joe’s for a good two hours. One more thing that needs to be added to my giant to-do list? These are extraordinary snickerdoodles. Update: Here’s a fun video I made with Gold Medal Flour on how to make these Brown Butter Snickerdoodles! Okay… I apologize for that writing in caps, I just drank a shot of espresso and watched the political debates so I’m a little hyped up and I don’t even follow politics. These cookies are simply perfect in texture and flavor. Prep time:

Homemade Snickers Bars Insanity. That’s what this is. Pure In.San.It.TEEEEE. You know those days when you’re in desperate need of sugar and you’ve already downed more gummy vitamins than recommended while seriously considering how many more you can ingest without causing severe harm to your internal organs? They’re just so gooooood. Well… in that case you should make some homemade snickers bars. And I KNOW you know what I’m talking about. I spent the majority of my pre-pubescent and adolescent years scheming just how I would be able to steal my brothers’ Halloween candy. Then I went through a SERIOUS phase of those Snickers ice cream bars. And that you can eat a million of them. These days, it’s rare that I crave actual candy, often preferring some chewy cookies or super rich cheesecake or a bar of amazing chocolate that costs thrice as much as the recent organic meyer lemons I purchased. They are the peanut butter to my jelly. The salt to my pepper. The broccoli to my… wait, no. And the fabulous part? nougat layer

Chocolate Chip Lava Cookies I am so in love with these darn chocolate lava cookies! What is it about a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie stuffed with decadent, rich, melted chocolate that makes it so irresistible?? Especially when topped with vanilla ice cream. These are one of Kev’s favorite homemade treats, and he usually asks me to make them at least once a week. All you really need for these fabulous cookies is your favorite cookie dough and a bag of chocolate chips. Since these cookies are absolutely gushing with delicious rich chocolate, my favorite chocolate chips for this recipe are the Hersey’s Milk Chocolate chips. Now let’s make some chocolate lava cookies! Place the flattened cookie dough in the bottom of a well-greased standard sized muffin tin. Now for our gooey, rich milk chocolate filling. Lay the Ziploc bag flat in the microwave, spreading out the chocolate chips in a single layer. Cut a small tip off the Ziploc bag and layer over the cookies. Heaven help me. Now here’s how I like my cookies. 1.

Salted Mudslide Cookies Cool people put salt on their cookies. Really! I swear. It’s not scary. Be a cool person. Mudslides were one of those drinks that I thought were insanely cool when I was 13 or 14 years old. A few summers ago at the beach, my uncle started blending mudslides one afternoon, changing up the typical bourbon/rum punch flow of the day. [You know... kind of like the time she thought Obama's name was "Omaha" for two weeks and asked every Sunday if we could take a quick stop at "Louie's" to looks at flowers. So Mother Lovett, mudslinger in hand, got her drank on while sitting approximately 5 inches from the big screen TV so she could adequately hear Dr. By the time we came back up to our condos to get ready for dinner… she was MIA. Now I can’t ever drink a mudslide without thinking of Mother Lovett drunk as a skunk. But it’s 2011 people! While on vacation two weeks ago, my mom and I spotted giant salted mudslide cookies inside a bakery case in the cutest little general store. 1 cup brown sugar

Deep-Dish Chocolate Chip Cookie for One By Lauren Zembron, on July 20th, 2012 I know, I know… it seems as though I’ve been posting sweet recipe after sweet recipe (with a little something cheesy thrown in); but you see, after what seemed like a long time during which sweets were unappealing during my first trimester, (what can I say, pregnancy does some strange things to your body!), they’re apparently back with a vengeance on my appetite’s menu. Sooooo if you’re a sweet freak like me, all I can say about my recent recipe post pattern is: you’re welcome. And if you’re not? Now let’s get to this deep-dish cookie. Jenny from Picky Palate recently posted a recipe for a microwavable chocolate chip cookie made in a ramekin that looked so unbelievably delicious I had to make my own (slightly healthier) version. I cut out half of the sugar, subbed in whole wheat pastry flour, and used grain-sweetened chocolate chips (which have less sugar than semi-sweet chips). Now I’m under no delusion that even my version is healthy.

Sallys Baking Addiction Cake Batter Chocolate Chip Cookies. » Sallys Baking Addiction These Cake Batter Chocolate Chip Cookies are a cross between delicious, soft-baked chocolate chip cookies and sprinkle filled funfetti cake! One of my most popular recipes ever: Cake Batter Chocolate Chip Cookies. I made these sprinkle-loaded cookies again recently, but I made them bigger, better, and thicker. Gorgeous, aren’t they? Delicious too! I’m posting my Cake Batter Chocolate Chip Cookies for you again today because (1) I know how much you love cake batter and (2) I tweaked the recipe to make them even better this time around. My sister always says that if you have a recipe you adore, don’t ever change it. I developed the cookie recipe last January, before I really got my feet wet into the cookie baking scene. If you’re anything like me, you adore thick cookies. First, I took a look at my recipe’s ingredients. I removed the extra egg yolk. What are other ways I could improve the original recipe? Let’s try reducing the amount of chocolate chips stuffed inside. That is an easy fix!
