6 Colored Pencil Techniques to Up Your Game
We bet you've seen it: Art that looks like an incredible painting, but was actually done with colored pencils. These seemingly simple tools can create an incredible range of dramatic effects, if you know the right techniques to bring to the table. Ready to try? Go! 1. Say it with us: Layer, layer, layer. Check out the first persimmon below, which uses only one shade each of red and green. 2. The pressure is on! Lighter pressure is the usual go-to because it makes a better base for layering colors, but the best way to feel it out is to make a pressure scale. 3. Incising or indenting is a technique that allows you to make very thin, white lines within dark values. To do it, place a piece of transparent paper (such as tracing paper or waxed paper) over your drawing paper. Once you've drawn all the lines, remove the sheet of transparent paper and shade over the indented areas. 4. 5. Blending is certainly not a necessary step, but many artists like the smooth finish. 6.
Dimensions 13 x 18 cm Like this: J'aime chargement…

Step 2 Now take your 2b mechanical pencil and outline the eye.The area outside this will be all black because of the shadows being cast from the area above. In this area i used the needle because the hairs are finer and will suggest single hairs. Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Take your paint brush and cover the area around the pupil. Step 6
