You can do them in any color for any theme: red for Valentines, red and green for Christmas, orange for Halloween, green for St. Patricks, red and blue for 4th of July etc. My kids were not in agreement as to the name of these treats. Jell-O Eggs Jell-O eggs manage to tackle two holidays in one. Not only are they guaranteed to steal the snack spotlight this Easter, but they also serve as the ultimate fake food for April Fool’s Day. I will admit that this edible craft takes a bit of skill and patience, but the effort is well worth it once you catch someone cracking an egg into a hot skillet and ending up with scrambled Jell-O. I first fell in love with using eggs as serving containers when I made Thomas Keller’s iconic Truffled Egg Custards during one of the final modules of culinary school. My apologies to Chef Keller, but I took your custard down a notch and replaced it with … Jell-O. So, long story short: Thomas Keller + Spanish food blogs + my love of dessert = Jell-O eggs. And that right there, my friends, is a perfect window into how my brain works. To make this edible craft in your own home, you’ll need: One dozen eggsA push-pinSeveral packets of Jell-O (bright colors work best)A fine pastry tipDuct tape

Homemade fruit leather Today’s post from Rachel just screams back to school to me. Fruit roll ups were one of the few “normal” kid snacks my mom actually bought for us. I might’ve been that kid with whole wheat sandwiches, fruit as “dessert” and carrot sticks on the side but occasionally, I did get fruit roll ups. Those were the days I didn’t have to hide my totally uncool lunch from friends and sit in the corner. Ok, slight exaggeration but carrot sticks were embarrassing. Seriously. Rachel is a mom of three and her oldest just started kindergarten this year. Happy snacking! Hi! So while she’s away… I really wanted to play and be naughty. This is my third fruit leather to date and I can pretty much guarantee that there will be many more varieties to come. But okay… one day my bananas were going bad.

The 34 Simple Two-Ingredient Recipes Posted by admin on May 22, 2013 in Recipes | 0 comments Cooking doesn’t get much easier than this. BTW, these are mostly desserts. I hope you’re OK with that.
