At dawn of June 8, 1972, about 5 AM, photographer Nick Ut loaded his camera gear, field survival kit, flak-jacket and steel-helmet into one of the AP's Japanese made minibuses (the AP correspondents called them 'command modules') parked outside the Eden Building, where the AP's Saigon office was. Nick travelled alone that day, without a correspondent. At the city limits both Nick and the driver put on their flak-jackets: the open areas between villages along Route-1 with their paddies and hedgerows were sniper territory. By 7:30 AM Nick Ut had reached the outskirts of the village Trang Bang (about 25 miles WNW of Saigon) and his driver joined a long queue of waiting vehicles: Less than a mile away North Vietnamese troops still controlled a section of Route 1 in Trang Bang. Henri Cartier-Bresson Henri Cartier-Bresson (Chanteloup-en-Brie, Sena i Marne, 22 d'agost de 1908 - Montjustin, Alps de l'Alta Provença, 2 d'agost de 2004) va ser un cèlebre fotògraf francès a qui molts consideren el pare del fotoreportatge, la fotografia de carrer i la fotografia natural, una activitat que li va fer adoptar el format de 35 mm de bon començament. Va defensar sempre la idea d'atrapar «l'instant decisiu», versió traduïda de les seves "images a la sauvette". Es tractava, per tant, de posar el cap, l'ull i el cor en el mateix moment en el qual es desenvolupava el clímax d'una acció. Després de fer petites incursions al moviment surrealista va fundar l'agència fotogràfica Magnum amb Robert Capa, David Seymour i George Rodger. Durant la seva carrera va tenir l'oportunitat de fotografiar personalitats com Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Marie Curie, Edith Piaf, Fidel Castro i Ernesto Guevara. Die Höhle ist Teil eines Systems von etwa 150 Höhlen, viele davon noch unerforscht, unter dem Annamiten-Gebirge, das vor zwei bis fünf Millionen Jahren entstanden ist, als Flusswasser einen Tunnel entlang einer Verwerfung in den Kalkstein gegraben hat.
