Hot Cocoa Kit HOW-TO MAKE A HOT COCOA KITby Destri of The Mother Huddle There just isn't much that a three year old can create that isn't something only a mother would love. I thought and thought about what my little boy could make his friends for Christmas and finally came up with a Hot Cocoa Kit. Over the course of a week we worked on little projects to add to the kit, and I can't tell you how much fun we had with it. He got to mash things, melt things, sprinkle things, dip things, fill things....all sorts of sensory play. He is so proud of himself and can't wait to give them out. If you find your kids getting restless for the big day to arrive this would be a great project to tackle until it comes. HOT COCOA KIT You may choose to only add one or two elements to the kit, but I will give you a list of what we used. Set The Stage I have learned that my son has a max attention span of about fifteen minutes. I would have everything out and ready before I even called him in the room. Marshmallow Bags

The Lovely Cupboard: DIY Paper Trees I love paper crafts, and Christmas is the perfect time to experiment with new decorations. I wanted some little trees to add to my buffet that would lend some height to the long table. These paper trees cost me less than $20 and an hour to make. These are so simple and would be perfect for a craft party. Even kids can make these. Hello paper trees, I love you to pieces. We picked up a much larger tree this afternoon... PS-I feel like watching Love Actually and Home Alone. Paintbrush Ornaments I recently created these paintbrush ornaments for a friend who loves to paint! These were so fun to do! I started with inexpensive paint brushes from Home Depot, and taped them off for painting. I chose these colors for the handles and applied with a foam brush: After this dried, I covered the wooden handles and taped off the brush areas and spray painted the metal section using Rust-oleum spray paints: After the base coats were all applied, I painted on the snowman face and then finished by hot gluing embellishments from my craft stash. Finally, I added coordinating ribbon to the handles so they can easily hang on the tree.

Large T-Shirt to Fitted Tee Tutorial | a.steed's.life I have these two t-shirts that I love. They're soft, comfortable, and have good worn (and sentimental) designs on them. But, I never wear them for anything other than around the house because they are large men's t-shirts and look completely shapeless on me. Then I found this great tutorial on YouTube for how to make a big t-shirt a fitted shirt! - T-Shirt Surgery: How to Make a Shirt Fit So, while I was staying with my mom at her camper this summer (she lives & travels in an RV), I asked her to help me try it out. First, a before & after look at the t-shirt we did. So, here's how it's done. Start with a t-shirt you love that's just too big Turn the shirt inside out and lay a shirt that DOES fit you on top of it, lining up the collars so that you can be sure it is centered over your large t-shirt. Thanks to brianagayle for the video tutorial & tips! No time to make your own?

Recycled PET Bottle Christmas Stars Once upon a time, bottle bases were recycled to make glass tiles. Today, we can recycle the bottoms of plastic water, juice or olive oil bottles into twinkling stars with a snip of the scissors. These transparent decorations reflect light from every direction and make eye-catching beaded garlands or hanging decorations suspended from a bit of wire. For a set of five stars and three snowflakes, set aside eight plastic bottles. To make a star, cut out triangle-shaped shapes from the sides. For a hanging ornament, cut out two identical stars and hang them back to back. For a garland, start with a long piece of string (at least 1.5 m).
