Garage Mini House

Garage Mini House
Who doesn’t love a good makeover? Especially if it involves small space creativity. Seattle based artist, designer and welder Michelle de la Vega took an old tired garage and turned it into a full functioning and visually stunning little house. Most fixtures and pieces of furniture were custom built for the project or salvaged, refurbished and repurposed by the designer/owner. The place is only 250 sq. ft., but thanks to clever space-saving solutions, it seems bigger; and there are no compromises in comfort. Before After

DIY Paper Flower Backdrop We’re delighted to have Jenny of Hank & Hunt back with us today to share another DIY tutorial. Last week you saw her DIY Feather Clips, and today she’s teaching us how to make a low-budget, high-impact paper flower backdrop! We love the idea of playing around with colors and perhaps even patterns to fit the feel of your wedding day perfectly. Let’s get to it: From Jenny of Hank & Hunt: The best part about this backdrop is its portability. Ever wonder how they manage to move those huge photobooth backdrops? For each board, you will need: -white foam core board -pack of 20×30″ 24 sheet fold of tissue paper -roll of double stick tape -scissors -empty water bottle Simply multiply your list by the number of boards you want; I made four. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. After I made these, I realized how pretty an ombre version would look. Project and images by Jenny Batt of Hank Hunt for Ruffled

37 Home Library Design Ideas by Micle Mihai-Cristian | Bob Vila Nation interior design By Freshome.com - Interior Design & Architecture Magazine on Jul 25, 2012 Probably the most “sacred” room of the entire crib, the home library combines relaxation with personal growth and completes the genuine atmosphere of a modern residence or apartment. We also love reading nooks and window seats surrounded by books, which make for great relaxations spots. 10 Kick-Ass Secret Passage Bookshelves If there’s one dream that unites all bookish folks (aside from, you know, universal literacy) it’s the dream of having a secret passageway hidden behind a bookcase. Ok, maybe it just unites some of us- but there’s no denying that there’s something super-nifty about having a bookcase that moves to reveal a space only you know about. You and your builder. Anywoot! Here’s a roundup of ten of my favorite bookish secret passageways from around the interwebs: Nothing says old money like a piano and a room hidden behind warm wood floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. This kid’s bookshelf opens to a secret reading nook. …Harry, are you in there? A secret passage in a gothic library that opens to reveal…a table for tea? I’ll just be over here, hanging out with ALL THE WHIMSY IN THE WORLD. For the minimalist in the family. Because sometimes you should have to climb a ladder to reach your secret passageway. I feel like this would be in the Beauty and the Beast library. Old school like the old school.
