Chocolate Frosting Shots!

Chocolate Frosting Shots!
If you received an email from Pinterest saying I didn’t want recipes pinned, this is NOT true! I’m so sorry for this and have no idea why they would send out such a message! As is obvious from the fact I have a Chocolate Covered Pinterest Board, I love and appreciate when people pin my recipes. Please accept my apologies and by all means keep pinning whatever you want… I’m honored when people pin my recipes! -Katie Tequila? What’s that? Healthy Frosting Shots? Maybe you’ve heard of the popular bakery, Sprinkles? Yesterday, I made my own chocolate frosting shots: Thick Chocolate Frosting… You can try this on my delicious Healthy Chocolate Cupcakes or even the Black Bean Brownies. Or skip the cupcake, like I did, and simply serve yourself a big glass of unadulterated chocolate bliss. (or chocolate mousse!) Healthy frosting recipe: Open your coconut milk, and if it’s not already super-thick, leave the can (or transfer to a bowl) uncovered in the fridge overnight.

Cookie Dough for Preggies! I was craving cookie dough today. Not really cookies, but just the cookie dough. Of course, I knew that I wasn't supposed to eat dough with raw eggs in it, so I lucked out when I found this recipe for cookie dough for ice cream. It didn't have all the extra ingredients that are important when you're going to cook the dough, stuff like baking soda. And it was eggless, and super simple to make. Eggless Cookie Dough 3/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup butter, softened 1/4 tsp. vanilla 1/4 cup milk 1 cup flour Pinch salt 1/2 cup chocolate chips In a medium bowl, mix together the brown sugar and butter until smooth. It's a bit wet right at first, chilling helps it to harden and get a better texture.

How to Make Peanut Butter S'Mores Turnovers Peanut Butter- S’Mores Turnovers I’m not much of a camper. My husband often takes my son on camping trips, and I happily stay behind and thank the gods for our bug-free house, cozy bed and well-stocked kitchen. I always send them off in comfort… marinate a little meat for them to throw on the grill, pack up some convenience foods and bake a few goodies too. When they return from their camping weekends, I hear mostly about the evenings sitting around the campfire. Here’s the How To: Thaw out a box of Puff Pastry, and cut along the fold lines to make 6 large rectangles. Layer 1/4 of a whole graham cracker, a piece of milk chocolate bar and a spoonful of peanut butter on one side of the Puff Pastry. Wet the edges with water (dip your finger in water and gently touch along the edge), fold over the filling ingredients and press edges together. Transfer filled turnovers to a parchment-lined baking sheet, and brush with egg wash. Bake at 400 degrees F. until golden (about 15 minutes).

Ice cream sandwich recipes The cookies The first thing you’ll need to do is decide which cookies to bake. We chose to make four different kinds of cookies: traditional chocolate chip, chewy brownie chunk, peanut butter and oatmeal chocolate chip. Bake your cookies, allow them to cool and then place them in the freezer so that they’ll be firm when it's time to squish the ice cream between them. The ice cream To make the sandwiches with homemade ice cream: Line a baking dish (or other flat dish with 1 1/2-inch sides) with plastic wrap.Make your favorite ice cream flavor in your ice cream maker or with the plastic bag method.Pour the ice cream into the bottom of your prepared pan and spread to evenly fill the pan (1/2 to 1-1/4-inch thick).Press another sheet of plastic wrap on the surface of the ice cream.Chill until very firm (ideally 24 hours or more). Cake & Ice Cream Sandwiches When we made our yummy Cake Mix Waffles, I knew they'd be perfect for ice cream sandwiches. We got the great taste combination of cake and ice cream, but because we made our "cake" in the waffle iron, we didn't have add any more heat to our summer day by turning on the oven. They were so easy, I really don't even need to give directions, but here they are: 1. Allow your cake mix waffles to cool on a baking rack, then put them on a cookie sheet in a single layers with waxed paper in between. Put them in the freezer to get a bit colder and a little more firm. 2. 3. 4.

Grand Cayman & No Bake Cookies and Cream Bars Grand Cayman & No Bake Cookies and Cream Bars Yesterday we arrived on the third leg of our June trip. After traveling from Miami to Key West to Cape Cod, we are now enjoying eight days of laying on the beach, scuba diving and great food in Grand Cayman. I love this place! Three years ago Andrew and I were married in the Cayman Islands on Seven Mile Beach. I walked down the aisle to the sound of a steel drum band. The wedding ceremony was incredible and we couldn’t have asked for a better setting. After the reception we had cocktails and dinner at the beachside restaurant Hemingways. Last night we celebrated our third wedding anniversary at the Grand Old House, a 103 year old plantation house right on the water’s edge over looking the Caribbean Sea. Now onto a wonderful and super quick recipe for a crowd pleasing dessert. No Bake Cookies and Cream Bars These No Bake Cookies and Cream Bars are a twist on the classic rice krispies treats. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes My ultimate weakness is a chocolate chip cookie. My friend Katie knows this and “pays” me in her famous cookies for things like taking family pictures of them or a ride to the airport. Money never tasted so good. So it didn’t surprise me that I fell in love with these cupcakes. I will warn you that they were a little work since I did it all in one day but the original recipe comes from Annie’s Eats and she said she usually splits the steps up over a couple of days. recipe update April 2013 Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes Ingredients For the cupcakes: 3 sticks unsalted butter (1 1/2 cups), at room temperature 1½ cups light brown sugar 4 large eggs 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda ¼ teaspoon salt 1 cup milk 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips For the filling and frosting: Instructions Preheat the oven to 350° degrees. Ice cream cookie sandwiches We have had some steamy hot Minnesota summer days in the past week. Summer! I love it! We have been trying to squeeze in all kinds of summer activities, you know, in between sicknesses. I am hoping the remnants of this congestion that I have will be the last of our family sickness for a while. On our agenda for the next week: sidewalk paint (Elijah is sooo excited about this), setting up the blow-up pool in our yard and McDonald's ice cream cones (a recent potty treat that we haven't redeemed yet). These ice cream sandwiches were a hit with the kids for our Father's Day gathering last weekend. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Cut a 16.5-oz. tube of refrigerated cookie dough (at room temperature) in half. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. While making my first batch, I learned that it is really really hard to get a giant square cookie out of a glass dish in one piece. No matter what method you use, even if your top cookie does break, it's not the end of the world.

SugarBlog - Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries. What? Yes! Um... ok. Why didn't I think of this?!?!?! Of course you can hollow out a strawberry and stuff it full of cheesecake. Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries Here's what you need: About 20 strawberries... this was a little over one carton for me. 8 oz pkg softened cream cheese 1/2 cup powdered sugar 1/2 tsp vanilla 1 sleeve of graham crackers 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional) First you will want to wash the strawberries and cut off the tops. Now core them! A thin ended apple peeler.... And a small knife.... I liked the knife better! The easiest way to core the strawberries is to hold the entire berry in your hand (wrap your fingers around it) and literally just core out the center. Um... Now to make the filling.... Beat the cream cheese. Now to fill the strawberries!!! I didn't want to hurt my zip lock baggies feelings so I used one to crush the graham crackers in. Now fill the strawberries, leaving just a bit coming out the top... then sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs. So...... These were amazing!

Ooey Gooey Goodness When was the last time you had s'mores? I promised myself to cut down on sweets this summer but how on earth can I, when Amanda teases me with her take on the fluffy ooey gooey goodness? Best part is that even if you're not the camping type you can just enjoy them on your sofa while watching Seinfeld:) My plan for tonight! Loves, how was your weekend? xo P.S: Full recipe here, if you fancy trying it. (Photos by Kim Giant S’mores Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies I swear I wasn’t going to do this. I wasn’t going to stuff something inside of something else. It was too trendy. But I succumbed to the pressure of a college kid who just finished finals. S’mores stuffed into thick and chewy chocolate chip cookies. But alas, perfection. So there. Cinnamon Rolls With Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting Happy Friday everyone! Sorry for my lengthy post-valentines day hiatus. The third trimester has made me a little slow in the kitchen and I've had my hands full with family. Mr. Of course, once I actually got my wish for a pan of delicious freshly made cinnamon rolls, I spent more time eating them than photographing them. Photographing food while pregnant is hard! So let's get down to the how-to. You will find that this recipe is far simpler than the sourdough cinnamon rolls found on NSHP. Alright, I'm going to let my resident dough-maker and crazy pregnant woman care-taker commandeer the laptop and give you the run down for this dough. Over to you Mr. Mr. As you might have noticed, everything is by weight. I have active dry yeast on hand, but you can use other types as well. When I make this dough, I weigh out the milk, butter, and eggs and set them aside to warm up to room temperature. Weigh out your dry ingredients, and whisk them thoroughly to combine. (Ms. This is where Mr. Ms. Enjoy.

Peanut Butter Cheese Ball You might have noticed by now that I sort of like peanut butter. I mean, it’s not an addiction or anything. I can totally stop eating it whenever I want. I’ve never wanted to stop eating it though. In fact, I had a spoonful of peanut butter for breakfast this morning. When I stumbled upon this little gem of a recipe from The Girl Who Ate Everything, I knew that this cheeseball would soon be mine. So, uh, I made this cheeseball. Print Save Ingredients: 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature 1 cup powdered sugar 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter (not all-natural) 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips 3/4 cup peanut butter chips Graham cracker sticks, teddy grahams, apple slices, Nilla wafers, for dipping Directions: Beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, peanut butter and brown sugar in the bowl of your stand mixer. Don’t miss a post!
