Kendi Everyday

fashioncoolture.com delight by design Today is the day that we finally depart for our European adventure! Although our final destination is Italy we will be spending the first day in Madrid and thought it was only appropriate to share some inspiration from my favorite Spanish interior design magazine, nuevo estilo, to get me in the mood! I definitely wouldn't mind enjoying tapas in either of these dining areas... And although I will be spending some time away from the computer (or trying) I do have some posts lined up for while I am away! THOUGHT PATTERNS: Kaleidoscope of Colors I've always leaned towards browns, blacks, creams and earthy colors in home decoration, that's the boring in me. But, I don't know, I'm kind of starting to like bright colors more. Kaleidoscope kind of colors, like turquoise, fuchsia, pink, aqua, violet, yellow, orange... all combined together. I admit that could be a bit retina-searing sometimes, but if expertly put together... it looks something like this... I am absolutely in love with the "Jester" sofa, and the paper lanterns. Even the fruit matches! Wonderful chair covers. And chest and bed covers! I don''t think we've had enough fuchsia and pink yet, so here is more. Striking! Love this blue combined with brown. A total fairy tale. Outdoors too? And on a completely unrelated note... How about this lunch box? Much love and color! xoxoxo {photos via coastal living, mc maison, home sweet home. and I couldn't remember where this lunch box came from, if anybody knows, let me know}

Atlantic-Pacific Anngela's Pretty Little Things: Dressy Tunic Top {Tutorial} The first dress top to add to my wardrobe--a silky tunic! :) While at Larry's grandmothers the other day, we came across some garments that she had made many years ago for store displays. I LOVED the fabric of this one top (and even though it wasn't my size) I HAD to try it on! A little big=a GREAT tunic! Supplies: All you need is your fabric (I had 1.5 yards, but this will vary depending how "baggy" you want it to fit) of something flowy--I used a "silky satin" print...I think is what it's called?? I made this top based on Larry's grandmothers shirt, BUT I think drawing this pattern would be fairly simple also. Step 1. This is where you would draw your own pattern if you don't have a store-bought tunic already that you like. Pin at the shoulders and sides to try on your garment and make any adjustments. Step 2. Step 3. Trim it up... And you're done!! SO simple! I LOVE the look as originally planned...flowy and very comfortable... :) Linked to:

A DIY "look for less" LOVE! | The Adventures of an Urban Socialite™ Top two images from Honestly… WTF (total cost about $5)/ Bottom image from Oak– retail $372.00 Love this clever project from Erica and Lauren of Honestly… WTF… so much so I might even attempt it– I love these bracelets! The best part is, there are tons of options in terms of hex nuts (they have bronze, steel, etc.) and twine color, size, etc. and the project is super straight-forward. Have fun! I was unable to find the exact price of these leopard print loafers from Celine, but based on other Celine shoe prices - they aren't exactly budget friendly. Steve Madden has a similar (although smaller print) leopard loafer that retails for $112 at Lori's Shoes. To get this similar style for less, you can click on the photo below to purchase. *Update - 6/28/11* - Forever 21 now has a version of these leopard loafers, for a very budget friendly $19.80.
