Sticky Lemon Rolls with Lemon Cream Cheese Glaze | Apartment Therapy... - StumbleUpon Have you ever wondered what cinnamon rolls would taste like, sans cinnamon? Why aren't there more recipes for sticky, gooey, and sweet breakfast rolls without cinnamon or caramel? There are so many other wonderful options! I was craving a buttery, flaky breakfast bun with the sweet, tangy, taste of lemon — so I made one up. These rolls are amazing, if I do say so myself! They are modeled after the classic cinnamon roll, and partially inspired by this bread, with a buttery yeast dough flecked with nutmeg and lemon. These rolls are not difficult, and like other breakfast roll recipes, they can be made at night and put in the refrigerator overnight for easy and quick baking in the morning. The final word on them comes from my mother, who looked at me, wide-eyed, over the brunch table, and said, solemnly, "This is the best thing I ever put in my mouth." Tester's Notes I've made these rolls many times since I first published the recipe in 2010. - Faith, April 2014 Makes 12 large breakfast rolls

Landmark condom law for porn filming signed by L.A. mayor Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa has signed into law historic new rules requiring porn performers to wear condoms while acting in areas requiring a city film permit. The law is believed to be the first in the nation by a local government requiring condom use among porn stars, and is significant because L.A.’s San Fernando Valley is the capital of the multibillion-dollar porn industry. Many porn companies have voiced opposition to the rule. They say adult films featuring condoms don’t sell as well, and say some porn performers on lengthy film shoots prefer not to use condoms. The mayor’s approval was a huge victory for the L.A. There are a couple of potential loopholes in the ordinance, however. The other big question is how the city plans to enforce the new rule. The AIDS group has already launched a similar signature-gathering drive to mandate condom use through the L.A. Villaraigosa signed the ordinance on Monday. Mayor backs condom porn rules
Chocolate Chip Lava Cookies I am so in love with these darn chocolate lava cookies! What is it about a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie stuffed with decadent, rich, melted chocolate that makes it so irresistible?? Especially when topped with vanilla ice cream. These are one of Kev’s favorite homemade treats, and he usually asks me to make them at least once a week. They are so simple to whip up, and such a treat! All you really need for these fabulous cookies is your favorite cookie dough and a bag of chocolate chips. Since these cookies are absolutely gushing with delicious rich chocolate, my favorite chocolate chips for this recipe are the Hersey’s Milk Chocolate chips. Now let’s make some chocolate lava cookies! Place the flattened cookie dough in the bottom of a well-greased standard sized muffin tin. Now for our gooey, rich milk chocolate filling. Lay the Ziploc bag flat in the microwave, spreading out the chocolate chips in a single layer. Cut a small tip off the Ziploc bag and layer over the cookies. 1.
Lemon-Basil Ricotta Stuffed Shells in a Champagne Cream... - StumbleUpon Can you EVEN believe I almost forgot to share with you this delicious baked pasta recipe? It was back in November when I made this pasta… and I remember the day perfectly… It was real sunny. My hair in a scrunchy, the stretchy grey comfy-pants are on, I was totally rocking the whole I-don’t-give-a-care-what-I-look-like-it’s-my-day-off look like nobody’s business. I’d once again put laundry on the back burner that afternoon {who has time for THAT?}, turned on a little Florence and the Machine, opened the fridge to get the creamer for my coffee and then I spied the champagne and then… the cream. POW {that’s the sound it makes in my brain when a recipe happens}! Please don’t think I ran out and bought champagne. Butter a baking dish and set aside. On the large holes of your box grater; shred a cup of Pecorino Romano or Parmesan cheese. Season the ricotta with a little extra salt and pepper if you haven’t already. Combine half of the pecorino with the ricotta and set aside. Ingredients:

8 hair care treatments you can make yourself | MNN - Mother Nature Network - StumbleUpon Eggs, yogurt and honey are, at first glance, all components of a tasty breakfast — but they also happen to be hair treatment ingredients, and affordable, all-natural ones at that. And they're not the only ones. Did you know, for instance, that the oils in avocados more closely resemble our own skin's oils than any product in the beauty aisle does? Or that the mild acidity in lemon is an effective — and gentler — alternative to chemical-laden products? Next time your locks need a lift, save money by using one of these kitchen fixes. For all hair types "The [raw] egg is really the best of all worlds," says Janice Cox, author of "Natural Beauty at Home". To use: For normal hair, use the entire egg to condition hair; use egg whites only to treat oily hair; use egg yolks only to moisturize dry, brittle hair, Cox says. For dull hair To Use: Massage 1/2 cup sour cream or plain yogurt into damp hair and let sit for 20 minutes. For itchy scalp For limp or fine hair For dry or sun-damaged hair
Snickerdoodle An even better snickerdoodle! Even though I may have a legitimate recipe for something, I never stop trying out new ones just in case I discover something better. This is probably why I bake so ridiculously much; I need to test out every single recipe just so I know which one is superior compared to the rest. It may sound nuts, but it seems somewhat tangible in my head. This recipe beats my previous favorite snickerdoodle recipe, which I used for a solid year. An even better snickerdoodle! Ingredients 1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/3 cup brown sugar 1 egg 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1 1/2 cups flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar For rolling: 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon Directions In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars with an electric mixer on high speed.

Ultimate Gluten Free Bread & Veggie Wedgie Even though I have no problems digesting gluten, I love baking gluten free. Why? Because our lives are filled with gluten : bread, pasta, couscous, cracked wheat, cakes, cookies, scones, pastries, seitan-you get the drill. So why not eating something that tastes familiar, but completely different? I was never a wheat-enthusiast anyway. I don’t like pasta, I rarely eat bread, cakes and cookies. So I figured that if they were made with different grains (not necessarily gluten free) maybe I would be more interested in eating something bread-y. Gluten-free baking is especially challenging when it’s also vegan. This bread had very good results texture-wise and taste wise, thought the texture is also a bit stickier than regular wheat bread. In that case, make a vegan brioche panini and enjoy! Combine all the flours and powders (cornmeal flour, rice flour, potato starch, nutritional yeast, xanthan gum, salt, garlic powder) together and mix. Let it stand until is cools down before cutting. Enjoy!

How To Make The Creamiest Nacho Cheese - The Huffington Post Have you ever wondered how the pros at restaurants make cheese nachos? It always seems the cheese sauce is creamier than anything else. That's because the cheese they use is top-quality and the recipe starts out as a sauce. It isn't just melted cheese. Don't get us wrong, there's nothing wrong with melted cheese on nachos. But you have to eat them really fast before the cheese solidifies, otherwise it's like eating chips with yellow rubber on top! The secret to making great cheese sauce to top your tortilla chips is first by making a roux, which is basically whisking flour into melted butter (see our how-to on making roux). Watch the video and get the recipe below. 2 tablespoons butter 2 tablespoons flour 1 cup milk, warmed 8 slices cheddar cheese 1/2 teaspoons salt Tortilla chips Jalapeno peppers, optional 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.
