Guest room Master Toons Simply Vintagegirl Blog 6 March 2014 When I picked up a little book titled “Free Grace and Dying Love,” I couldn’t help but begin pouring over its pages. The first part is a collection of devotions by Susannah Spurgeon and the second part is a biography on her life. Charles and Susannah Spurgeon’s story is a beautiful and inspiring one. Susannah’s writings in the collection of devotions is beautiful evidence of her great love of and submission to her Savior. A couple of my favorite quotes from this volume: “Lord, You have told me who You are, You have in mercy revealed Yourself to me, I know You to be that blessed ‘gift of God’ which alone can save and satisfy my soul. I need Christ in all things and I know that He is sufficient. “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.

Reclaimed Walnut Table Grows Plants | Urban Gardens | Unlimited Thinking For Limited Spaces January 21, 2011 by Robin Plaskoff Horton Here’s when the thing that falls between the cracks is a good thing. As part of her application to grad school in architecture, Brooklyn designer, Emily Wettstein, dreamed up these gorgeous tables then crafted them from reclaimed walnut and steel. Tabletop Container Gardening The wonderful surprise: the removable planter in the center of the 24″ x 60″ table. She’s filled this one with wheat grass, but it’s up to you to fill with whatever plants you like. via Design Milk

Peter Thiel: We’re in a Bubble and It’s Not the Internet. It’s Higher Education. Fair warning: This article will piss off a lot of you. I can say that with confidence because it’s about Peter Thiel. And Thiel – the PayPal co-founder, hedge fund manager and venture capitalist – not only has a special talent for making money, he has a special talent for making people furious. Some people are contrarian for the sake of getting headlines or outsmarting the markets. Consider the 2000 Nasdaq crash. And after the crash, Thiel insisted there hadn’t really been a crash: He argued the equity bubble had simply shifted onto the housing market. So Friday, as I sat with Thiel in his San Francisco home that he finally owns, I was curious what he thinks of the current Web frenzy. Instead, for Thiel, the bubble that has taken the place of housing is the higher education bubble. Like the housing bubble, the education bubble is about security and insurance against the future. Like any good bubble, this belief– while rooted in truth– gets pushed to unhealthy levels.
