StoryCorps 9/11 Stories StoryCorps has released a set of animated short films telling the stories of people whose loved ones died during the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001. StoryCorps is an independent nonprofit whose mission is to provide Americans of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories of our lives. Since 2003, over 50,000 everyday people have interviewed family and friends through StoryCorps. Each conversation is recorded on a free CD to share, and is preserved at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress. It is hoped that each person who died in the September 11 attacks will have their story recorded.

Page corner bookmark This project comes to you at the request of Twitterer @GCcapitalM. I used to believe that a person could never have too many books, or too many bookmarks. Then I moved into an apartment slightly larger than some people’s closets (and much smaller than many people’s garages) and all these beliefs got turned on their naïeve little heads. But what a person can always look for more of is really cool unique bookmarks. Solving Sudoku : Technique 7 : Hidden Pairs/Triples Hopefully you've got the hang of finding Naked Pairs and Triples - if not, practise looking for those before trying to understand the hidden equivalent! Hidden pairs and triples are quite a bit trickier to spot - they're hiding after all! Using the same notation as before, just looking at the cells which haven't been fixed yet: {46} {24} {13} {26} {123} Because 1 and 3 can only exist in two of those cells (no other cells will accept either of them), that means they must be in those two cells, leaving no room for any other. Even though you don't know which is a 1 and which is a 3, you do know that the two isn't welcome, so you can remove it as a candidate from the end cell!

25 (more) clever ideas to make life easier . We heard you loud and clear. When we published our first list of clever ideas to make life easier last year, we received an overwhelming response. So without further ado, here’s another 25 ingenious household tips and organisational tricks that will have you saying, “Why didn’t I think of that?!” Sick of smudges on your screen? Get a candle Who would have guessed that the solution to one of the biggest problems for a technophile would be simple candle soot? It may seem implausible, but researchers at the Max Planck Institute in Germany have indeed proven that the carbon residue released when burning a candle can be used to create a coating that is both oil and water resistant. Simply put, by making the screens on your mobile devices dirty with soot, you can keep them from smudged with fingerprints. Of course the process to make this happen is much more scientific then slapping a pile of soot on your device, so please don’t be rushing for your fireplace. While the hurdle of liquid resistance in electronic screens is nothing new, no one has come up with a practical solution until now.

How To Tie Dye Your LEGS I am about to show you how to tie dye your legs... or leggs really. Yeah, they're just stockings, but the result is still the same. I now have 3 different crazy pairs of tights that each were made from old clothes and food coloring. I do know that this red color looks like I got a sunburn or was in a bad fire, so you can stop saying so. This was an experiment, and so the black color that I wanted turned out red. I've fixed it, look:

DIY Solar Lamp: Make Your Own Eco-Friendly Sun Jars The principle is simple and seductively clever: solar lights that store energy during the day and release light at night. These can be purchased ready-made in a variety of colors (yellow, blue and red) but they can also be built at home. A simple, less-technical approach involves buying a conventional solar-powered yard lamp and then essentially harvesting it for key pieces to put in a jar. This is simply a way of taking an existing solar lamp design and appropriating its parts to make something more attractive for display around a house or home. 100 Best Photoshop Tutorials of All Time that Yield Professional Results Photoshop tutorials are one of the most popular subjects on the web, as the digital art community continues to grow and new designers bring their unique skills.
