In this blog, I interview Sir John Daniel, President and CEO, Commonwealth of Learning, Globally Recognized Leader and Scholar in Education. Enjoy! Sir John joined the Commonwealth of Learning in 2004 after serving for three years as Assistant Director-General for Education at UNESCO. He began his career with an undergraduate degree from Oxford (First Class Honours) and a Doctorate in Science from the University of Paris, both in metallurgy. He spent four years helping to establish Québec's Télé-université, moved west to Alberta as Vice-President of Athabasca University, and then returned to Montreal as Vice-Rector of Concordia University. In 1988, Sir John chaired the Working Group that was appointed, following the 1987 meeting of the Commonwealth Heads of Government, to "develop institutional arrangements for Commonwealth co-operation in distance education".

Why America's Healthcare Sucks You know it is true. According to the CDC, over 40 million Americans did not have health insurance during 2009. Obviously something has to change, but socialized medicine is not the answer. It is just one possible solution. Now that I have put myself in a political grey area, I will continue on with this topic. Although smoking, drinking and the elderly are lower per capita in America than most European countries, it doesn’t mean we don’t have problems. The Anatomy Of An Infographic Information is very powerful but for the most bit it is bland and unimaginative. Infographics channel information in a visually pleasing, instantly understandable manner, making it not only powerful, but extremely beautiful. Once used predominantly to make maps more approachable, scientific charts less daunting and as key learning tools for children, inforgraphics have now permeated all aspects of the modern world. I designed a couple of infographics back in college, the need arising especially around the time Soccer World Cup fever spiked. It was a fun process representing the different groups, predicting winners in each group at each stage and creating a mock pairing of teams that would clash all the way leading upto the finals. I was a devout Argentinian supporter at the time.
