10 Free Web-based Alternatives to Photoshop I’m fed up with Photoshop and its one billion rarely-used features. How about a simple photo-editor that’s quick, easy, and doesn’t cost a thousand dollars. Fortunately, there’re tons of web-based photos editors popping up. Most are crap, but some are promising. Check out these free web-based Photoshop alternatives: Arguably, Picnik is the most popular web-based photo editor. Very polished interface. Part of the Aviary suite of creative apps, Phoenix also offers layers and compositing. Adobe was a little late to the web-apps game, but this is a pretty good first try. Nice, simple, and clear interface, with no ads at all. flautR offers a cornucopia of image tools, boasting thousands of photo effects. Another ad-free editor. Hmm… looks like Pixenate was “inspired” by Pic Resize. Another simple interface. An example of how ugly these apps can get. Let me know if I’ve missed any other good ones. Adding eBay Auction Photos Why use EPS and Why Not? Using eBay Picture Services (EPS) as your image host is a one-stop solution to placing photos in your listing. With EPS, you can browse and upload images from your hard drive and EPS will resize and compress them to an appropriate size for web viewing. Your uploaded photos will automatically appear in your listing, and a thumbnail gallery will be created for multiple images. However, there are various reasons you may not wish to use EPS, such as limitations on the number of photos, size, or quality, the cost involved, computer incompatibility, or security settings that prevent you from using EPS. eBay will not charge any fee for images that are inserted into the description using third-party image hosting, although you may or may not be paying a monthly fee to the provider of the hosting service. eBay Picture Services: eBay Troubleshooting: Image Hosts
Crusty Bread - (Private Browsing) Jan. 1, 2015: Just released. Instructional video for the Crusty Bread recipe. Crusty Bread 3 cups unbleached all purpose flour 1 3/4 teaspoons Kosher salt 1/2 teaspoon Instant or Rapid-rise yeast 1 1/2 cups water In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt and yeast. I must begin by saying where the recipe originated, if in fact it originated anywhere...really. Remember before beginning to create, that this bread is highly forgiving. You do NOT have to have an enamel covered cast iron pot. You DO NOT need to oil the pot. In a large mixing bowl add 3 cups white unbleached flour. To the flour add 1 3/4 teaspoon salt (I use kosher I like it) and 1/2 teaspoon rapid rise or instant yeast. Whisk the flour, salt and yeast together. Add 1 1/2 cups water. Mix in the water. That's it! Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it set for 12 - 18 hours on the counter top. After 12 hours the dough will look like this. Meet my blue Le Creuset. Now, please disregard that this dough has stuff in it.
Martin P5M Marlin - patrol flying boat - (Private Browsing) With the US Navy requiring a new patrol flying-boat, Martin decided to develop the successful PBM Mariner, the resulting Martin Model 237 design combining the wing and upper hull of the Mariner with the new lower hull structure. The close relationship between the two types is emphasised by the fact that a PBM-5 Mariner served as the prototype XP5M-1 which, when ordered into production, was given the name Marlin. The modified hull of the XP5M-1 incorporated radar-directed nose and tail turrets, as well as a power-operated dorsal turret, and power was provided by two 2424kW Wright R-3350 radial engines. This prototype flew for the first time on 30 May 1948, but it was not until two years later that the P5M-1 was ordered into production, the first of these series aircraft being flown on 22 June 1951.
