Using a post I found on Pinterest a couple of weeks ago for inspiration, I decided to rewrite the existing list to use on my own blog. That small {original} idea has since snowballed into something much bigger than I ever anticipated. I decided to invite a few of my photography-loving girlfriends {Jessica, Stacie and Amy} and see if they were interested in participating as well. Wow. For the month of {June} there will be a different topic chosen for each day – you take the photo and then upload it to your blog, Flickr page, or Facebook album and then leave a link back to your photo in one of two places: that day’s White Peach blog post, or in the newly created Flickr Group. Browse Carved Book Landscapes (click images for detail) For the better part of three decades multidisciplinary artist Guy Laramee has worked as a stage writer, director, composer, a fabricator of musical instruments, a singer, sculptor, painter and writer. Among his sculptural works are two incredible series of carved book landscapes and structures entitled Biblios and The Great Wall, where the dense pages of old books are excavated to reveal serene mountains, plateaus, and ancient structures. So I carve landscapes out of books and I paint Romantic landscapes. Laramee’s next show will be in April of 2012 at the Galerie d’Art d’Outremont in Montreal.
