Patterns of Visual Math -Secret Inner Life of Mirrored Spheres: Wada Basins Reflective Spheres of Infinity: Wada Basin Fractals (In physical reality and digital visualization) Perhaps the Best Example of a very rich and interesting natural fractal is the infinite series of inter-reflections when mirrored spheres (such as christmas ornaments) are packed together. It may also illuminate properties of other processes because the fractal is produced by perfect spheres arranged into the most economical packing arrangement used by nature and most waves are actually spherical. Look in the middle and we see a beautiful fractal vortex! Wada Photo (left) with similarities to Mandelbrot Set (right) : Here is a shot i found from a digital photography "DCP Challenge" contest online - nice color choices! "Wada basins are certain special basins of attraction studied in the mathematics of non-linear systems. The 3 dimensional Wada Basin example below is from a cover story in Scientific American 2002 Below: Zoom on area in Wada Fractal above ...

LIVE REAL TIME SATELLITE AND SPACE SHUTTLE TRACKING AND PREDICTIONS Brain Pickings If the rest of this year's movie posters told the truth It's been far too long since our last movie poster TRUTH-BOMBING: here's a round-up of the remaining movies that have dodged our rapist rapier wit so far this year. Attention Stumblers! We have a new feature we think you'll like: If 2012's Oscar posters told the truth. In conclusion, I have far too much time on my hands. Attention Stumblers! The real 3D Mandlebulb (images & vid), page 1 Being a web/graphics designer I come across a lot of crazy designs created by math. We have fractal art which is amazing: Then we have the Mandlebot/Mandlebulb which is an entire 3-dimensional "world" created from math. TIMESTAMP 08/11/2009. Chuckwagon Apple Fritters | Scarletta Bakes I’ve been thinking about the Good Humor truck a lot lately. Like, a lot. This happens to me almost every summer. I get super hot. The sweating starts. The farmer’s tan shows up. Every summer when I was a kid, we would spend our days at the local pool. I was a champion eater. Around 11:19 a.m., I’d start to get excited. Waiting. And then, in the far-off distance, I heard it… Diddly ding da ding da ding ding-a-ling a ding dongggggggggggggg (Whatever. I have to be first in line. Wait – who is that chubby girl standing on curb, sobbing and clutching two melted Push Pops? Sigh. Why am I talking about the Good Humor truck? Seriously, these fritters are simple and simply amazing. I came into the kitchen and found A. sitting next to an empty fritter bowl. M.: “Hey, what’s that chile sugar all over your face?” A.: “It’s not chile sugar. For reals. Chuckwagon Apple Fritters Prepare the apples by peeling all 5, shredding 2 of the apples, and roughly chopping 3 of the apples. 1.

Wim Delvoye – The Guy Who Made the Cloaca at MONA - Art & Entertainment im Delvoye’s cloaca machine has been quite a talking point since MONA opened almost a year ago in January 2011. The machine – colloquially labelled as ‘the shit machine’ – was built by the artist to mimic the actions of the human digestive system, eating full meals several times a day and producing faeces at the other end. Despite being surveyed as the ‘most hated’ piece of art in the gallery, MONA’s iPod tracking devices have since revealed that it is also the piece people spend the most time with. It isn’t that people particularly like it, but it certainly gets people talking, and that – like much of the Belgian’s work – is a large part of the point. “The cloaca is a very cosmopolitan piece,” says Delvoye of the response he got when it took it to China in 2005 for an exhibition. It is this notion that seems to incite curiosity in gallery patrons – this idea that everyone shits and that it’s not something you have to do it well or poorly. mona.net.au

About 23 This is about the synchronicity number 23, and thus about the phenomena of synchronicity in general. To write about this topic objectively is impossible, as all experiences are necessarily subjective, involving as they do the element of consciousness, which cannot be instrumented. This is perhaps a study in the affirmation that any assertion of an objective observer is inherently impossible, and yet at the same time there is a deeply imbedded pattern of coherency in all that we regard as random. My first synchronicity experiences with numbers were not with 23, but with 2:22:22, first seen as the time on my digital watch on the Summer Solstice in 1981. I suppose that the hard-core SCICOP types might take comfort in this, as evidence that they can write off these reports as nothing but drug induced hallucinations, but anyone who has worked with these states knows that is simply not the nature of these experiences. That is to some degree what happened with me and twenty three.
