A Butterfly Effect Art Print by Norman Duenas New All « PrevNext » « Prev1234 ... 80Next » Video Transcript What is art? From the materials we use to the hands that ply them, we match the care that goes into everything we make to that of the artist that designed it. It begins with those thousands of artists entrusting their original work to another. It's the paper that isn't just paper, but pressed European cotton. It's the archival quality inks that mean your print outlives you. It's the craftsmen that print, cut, check and pack your art. All together, thousands of steps were taken to make your Art Print. This is our process. This is our art. Irish Art: Encyclopedia of Visual Arts in Ireland: History of Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking: Greatest Artists, Best Museums, Art Movements

Art Dolls by Du Buh Du Designs - Gift Idea: Photo Coasters Three years ago I moved to Oregon, just weeks before Christmas. Mark and I had to come up with an idea for family gifts in a hurry with a limited budget. I had seen a set of four decorative coaster tiles selling for forty dollars in a local boutique and thought I could do the same, but much cheaper. I did some research online and only found expensive kits to make photo tiles. The coasters were a hit and pretty much everyone who received a set called to let us know what a great gift it was. Here's what you'll need to begin : * 4" Tile (uncoated). * Inexpensive fingernail polish remover (contains acetone and works better than straight acetone which we've tried). * a Bone folder (that thing in between the brush and polish remover). * a foam brush (get 2 or three if you're doing a lot). * colored copies from Kinkos**. *** Someone asked if you use regular or photo paper and all I can say is if you go to Kinkos use their color copier and use the paper they have in there. * Cheap latex gloves.

- StumbleUpon @lodown: That's the exact same impression I got from the images. I guess the intention wasn't to subvert, just 'put a new spin on', which is a shame. I like the images well enough, but 'oooh, pretty' doesn't make for very good art, it's just pretty. @lodown: No intention to subvert pinups. @silver-bolt: Well, that's why I said, "if". It seems to me that some of these illustrations depict beautiful women in classic pin-up style, but also dressed in outfits or in situations that reference BDSM, fascism, and gory violence. The women here are depicted as threatening, aggressive and even sadistic, but they're still sexy in the usual way (hourglass figures, Caucasian features, long limbs, able-bodied, etc.) I think a true subversion of the genre would be to depict non-typically pretty women (or men or transgendered persons) in the same sort of luscious, cheesecake poses. These are just idle thoughts, though.

Yuki Matsueda - StumbleUpon ‘While most designers are busying adding more and more elements into their artworks, Japan-based Yuki Matsueda has, however, managed to let some elements escape from his art pieces. The result seems quite amazing… A vivid 3D image is successfully created and all the elements are believed to be more shocking than those stay still on paper.’
