photo: lilylock.tumblr.com/post design: eunice chun Every single Winter I swear that I’m not going to let my face get dry, irritated and chapped. But life gets in the way, I forget to stay on top of it and before I know it, the corners of my lips are cracked and my chin is so dry and irritated that it even has little rash-like bumps on it! Then I spend the next month trying to turn it around, but the heavy emollient creams strong enough to tackle the chapped skin only inflame and irritate the rash, causing dermatitis and break outs, landing me in my dermatologist’s office, hoping my insurance will cover it!! It’s enough to drive a woman nuts. I will try not to let my scarf or the collar of my coat rub against my chin and cause chaffing.I will try not to take scolding hot showers but warm ones instead. Yes that’s ten promises and seems daunting, but it’ll be so worth it if I can make it through until March without succumbing to the vicious cycle of dry, chapped and rash-covered skin!

And they're not the only ones. Did you know, for instance, that the oils in avocados more closely resemble our own skin's oils than any product in the beauty aisle does? Or that the mild acidity in lemon is an effective—and gentler—alternative to chemical-laden products? For All Hair Types "The [raw] egg is really the best of all worlds," says Janice Cox, author of Natural Beauty at Home. To Use: For normal hair, use the entire egg to condition hair; use egg whites only to treat oily hair; use egg yolks only to moisturize dry, brittle hair, Cox says. Photo by Shutterstock. For Dull Hair Styling products (as well as air pollution) can leave a film that both saps moisture and dulls shine—but dairy products like sour cream and plain yogurt can help reverse this damage. Makeup Notebook, Fun Makeup Tips and Cosmetic Recipes Gradient Blend the edges with a fluffy brush in small, circular motions - or just use your finger. Blend the edges into the lighter color. Blend the edges of the darkest color into the medium color - this should look like a seamless gradient. TIP: UD and MAC shadows (along with many others) have amazing pigmentation, but if you can't get the same intensity from your shadow, use a wet brush to apply. Go over the edges with a dry brush and dry shadow to blend. To finish, apply liner and mascara. I paired my eyes with a pinkish nude lip, using MAC Pink Plaid lipstick and a coat of Julie Hewett Biba over it.

Because: It literally takes a minute to doNO heat at all – just a soft little sock in your hairNo product (for me anyway)You can sleep in it very comfortablyIt works Marvelously and is simple beautiful This is the sock bun before and after of my hair. Here are the step by step instructions on how to make this work. First steal a sock from your husband’s dress sock collection (that is what I did anyway). Now roll the sock into a ring. Put your dry hair into a high ponytail. Now spritz just the hair in your ponytail with water. Now grab your rolled up sock and put your ponytail through the hole.

A Splendid Assemblage: Favorite Up-Do Hairstyle Tutorials for Summer Hair has always been my "thing" but I do develop certain "shave it all off" tendencies at least once a year. So far I haven't..I do wonder how that would feel though. There are so many fantastic hair tutorials out there that even in this heat I really don't mind how long my hair is.Except when my bangs get too long and then everything turns dark. Here are some of my favorite up-do and bun hair tutorials for these hot summer months or any season really :)
