Make Pastrami: Close to Katz's Recipe
"I'll have what she's having." Lady at the next table By Meathead Goldwyn Pastrami is Kosher barbecue, it is corned beef with chutzpah, and it is at its ballsiest at Katz's Delicatessen in New York City. Katz's is a timeless throwback is where Harry met Sally's fake orgasm and they both met real pastrami. I have never duplicated Katz's pastrami, even though I pumped Chef Kenny Kohn for tips on technique, but I've come mighty durn close. Of course I can't be sure Kohn was leveling with me about the Katz's method. Culinary historians believe the highly seasoned, smoked, juicy, bright pink beef in a dark robe, was invented by poor Jews in schtetls (a Yiddish to English dictionary is below) in Romania where it may have been made from goose or duck meat. Some say beef pastrami was first made in the US by an immigrant kosher butcher, Sussman Volk, in 1887, but that date is disputed by the owners of Katz's which opened in 1888. When you enter, you will be given a ticket. Cure the beef. Here.

Snickerdoodle Muffins
I have been obsessed with Pinterest lately! Pinning this and that all while trying not to drool all over my computer. While I like pinning lots of different things, as you can imagine, I love pinning recipes. A picture of snickerdoodle muffins kept popping up all over my Pinterest page just begging me to make them. Could it be, one of my favorite cookies in a breakfast treat? I had to investigate! These muffins made the best late-night snack I have had in a while! I really need to stop looking at Pinterest after dinner! The dough is very soft, so when you drop some into the cinnamon-sugar mixture you want to spoon some of the mixture over the dough before you start rolling it. This way your fingers never touch the sticky dough and you don’t end up with snickerdoodle batter all over your fingers. After the ball of dough is completely covered in cinnamon and sugar just plop it into the muffin liner and bake! Scroll to bottom for printable recipe card. What makes this recipe special? Pin Recipe
Honey Beer Bread Recipe
On Friday night, I finished season six of Mad Men. At 2am. About a week after starting the season. On Netflix. I mean, I don’t even blink an eye nowadays when a friend asks what show they should “start” next in April. Well, to harken back to the good ol’ days when Don Draper and his family would have sat together around a “set” to watch a show, at a designated time each week, no computer in the house, but perhaps with an Old Fashioned in hand, I made a simple shrimp saute to share with you today inspired by the classic cocktail. Read more This week has been one of those perfectly normal weeks that makes me adore life. Meals shared with friends every day of the week. Nan On Tawa or Tawa Naan Recipe - Step by Step
Naan or Nan is TH's favourite bread. That and palak paneer are his absolute favourite dishes to order in a restaurant. I recently got the book Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day from the library and got totally smitten by it. I don't have most of the stuff that they have mentioned as requirements, like pizza peel and oven thermometer and baking stone and even a proper oven to do broiler method of baking in but this, this Tawa Nan I could try. The dough is the master Boule recipe mentioned in popular book Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day . Check out all bread recipes in Edible Garden. Let's look at the step by step pictures to prepare tawa nan at home: Here's what we need first - 3/4 tbsp of active dry yeast. Throw the yeast in a bowl with 1.5 cups of lukewarm water.
