George Lucas Does Something Likeable For a Change: Revenge on Rich Neighbors George Lucas' rich neighbors don't want him building a movie studio in their backyard. His response is the best thing he's done in years. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, for four decades Lucas has owned a large swath of land in Marin County in the North San Francisco Bay and has spent the past few years trying to transform the ranch on it into a massive, nearly 300,000 square foot, state-of-the-art movie studio complete with day care center, restaurant, gym and a 200-car garage. His neighbors, however, have rejected it every step of the way. Despite the promise of bringing $300 million worth of economic activity to the area, the already-well off neighbors are worried about years' worth of construction activity and the additional foot traffic it will bring into their neighborhood once completed. We love working and living in Marin, but the residents of Lucas Valley have fought this project for 25 years, and enough is enough. Mr.

Treehotel, Sweden UPDATE: Treehotel are now offering their Mirrorcube treehouse as a turnkey solution available to the public Don’t get me wrong, cities are great. Hell, I currently live in London and before my days are over want to spend a serious amount more time in New York, LA, Tokyo, Paris, Sydney and more, but when you need to really get away, it should be to the Treehotel, not the Waldorf. An eco-based design hotel concept, each “room” is wonderfully individual with stunning design and even better views. With the plan to build 24 new treehouses over 5 years, a handful are already in place, and miles from civilisation offering the perfect, isolated getaway, just a touch south of the Arctic Circle.

Silver Tree Bark Ring 3 stack by billyblue22 “Batgirl” to feature first transgender character The character Alysia Yeoh will come out to Batgirl as a transwoman in the current issue of of the comic “Batgirl.” The gender reveal is a first for a featured character in a mainstream comic series, and for plenty of other cultural mediums devoid of trans representation. “Batgirl” writer Gail Simone told Laura Hudson at Wired that the inspiration for the character came from a conversation with a fellow writer — and a desire to mirror the diversity of comic readers themselves: “I looked out into the audience, saw dozens of faces I knew well — LGBTQ folks, mostly — all avid comics readers and superhero fans and DC supporters,” said Simone. “And it just hit me: Why was this so impossible? Why in the world can we not do a better job of representation of not just humanity, but also our own loyal audience?” And if readers are upset by the introduction of a transwoman into the Bat universe?
