Baked Egg Boat recipe Breakfast is my favorite meal. I like to drink iced coffee and watch the cream climb its way down the chunky ice cubes in a dazy before the caffeine hits. I like to order bacon with whatever I’m eating. I like eating potatoes with ketchup. I like eggs over easy, and fluffy scrambled eggs. Get Cooking with Free Online Learning Resources Reading an unfamiliar recipe can be frustrating: What steps, exactly, do you take to butterfly a chicken? How small is a fine dice? When the recipe says, “cook until browned,” just how brown should it be? Cooking lessons can give you clarity on all those questions, and impart skills to improve your kitchen abilities. But they often come with a price. You’ll easily spend $50 and up for a few hours of one-on-one instruction on a single food or topic, and up to several thousands for true mastery through a lengthier professional lesson or class series.

Tatbileh-Rice with Meat and Pine Nuts On my last trip to Nazareth I was invited to eat in the home of a local resident who lives right in the center of this vibrant and colorful city. The hostess made a delicious chicken stuffed with fragrant rice and hand chopped meat which she topped with golden toasted almonds. The rice is known as tatbileh, not to be confused with the lemon, garlic hot pepper sauce of the same name. It is a popular dish among the Arabs of the Galilee, especially for weddings and other celebrations. This dish is flavored with allspice and cinnamon, dominant in Palestinian and Syrian cuisine. It is also possible to replace these two spices with baharat which is the way I had it in Nazareth.

Milky Way Brownies Recipe I began the day yesterday with a desire to create some sort of candy bar-infused brownie. ‘Snickers‘ first came to mind. The thought of all of that caramel oozing its way through a mass of fudgy brownie sounded like a good idea to me. There was a problem though… NUTS were ruining my vision of the most decadent brownie ever. So I went the route of the Milky Way instead and created:Milky Way Brownies The mini-sized Milky Ways were chopped up and added to the batter.

Oven Roasted Potatoes When I heard this month’s Kitchen Bootcamp Challenge was potatoes, I was pumped. Originally, I had great plans for the sweet potatoes still in my basement from last fall, but after researching and chatting with the hubby, I decided to go with Yukon Gold potatoes instead. My husband isn’t a huge fan of sweet potatoes and I wanted to make something he would enjoy too, so that’s how I settled on this oven roasted potato recipe. The Best Kurdish Carrot Fritters in the World In high school many years ago I was a fencing champion and was written about in the local paper- the Daily Freeman, which I once thought was so worldly and sophisticated. Everyone was always so impressed when I told them “I won the gold in the New York State fencing championships” as they made a show of raising their eyebrows and tilting their heads in slight surprise and perhaps awe, I would like to think. But of course it was all a joke since there were no other female contestants at this prestigious event.
