Don’t miss the launch discount, at the end of this post! Now it’s November, I’m so excited to finally be able to launch my new Christmas patterns that I’ve been developing for the past few months: a perfectly-shaped Gingerbread Man and Girl! Chunky and flat, just like the edible version, my Gingerbread Family are crocheted amigurumi-style (in a continuous spiral) and are almost seamless, so you have minimal sewing to complete them. I’m imagining an army of amigurumi gingerbread for sale at Christmas craft fairs etc, and easy seasonal gifts for everyone who appreciates a little handmade whimsy. Gingerbread Man crochet pattern Gingerbread Man stands 6″ (15cm) tall when crocheted in worsted weight yarn. All the embellishment options pictured above are included in the pattern, but Gingerbread Man is the perfect blank canvas for you to decorate however you want – just like the edible kind! How to Make Wool Dryer Balls – $ave Money and Control Static About three years ago Matt purchased a set of felted wool dryer balls on Etsy. When he opened the package I laughed and asked why he was purchasing balls of yarn for such a ridiculous price! He explained the purpose of the dryer balls and asked if I would experiment with them in our laundry. Wool dryer balls are not a new concept. What are the benefits of using wool balls in your dryer? They decrease drying time, saving you money on utility bills. How do they work? It’s simple. Maybe you’re using those plastic PVC dryer balls because you don’t want the chemical scents from commercial products coating your laundry. Don’t bother paying someone else to wind yarn into a ball for you; making your own felted wool dryer balls is a simple process you can do while watching a flick, helping kids with homework, or waiting for dinner to cook. Making felted wool dryer balls with yarn Choosing Your Yarn Finding the right yarn is the most critical part of making these wool balls. You Will Need: 1. 2. 3. 4.

Crocheted Snowball Wreath I’m dreaming of some snow this winter. Just enough so my boys can build a snowman in the backyard While I wait for those first few flakes, I decided to make a little bit of a winter wonderland in our house and I’m starting with this crocheted snowball wreath! I have visions of snowball garland hung across the mantel, in the entry way and on the banister. I used a 12 inch round green styrofoam wreath. The pattern is simple: With size H hook Chain 21, SC in second chain from hook and the rest of the way down the chain, chain 1, turn (20 SC) Rows 2-150: SC in each stitch, chain 1, turn (20 SC) Leave a long long tail after your last row so you can stitch the edges together onto the wreath. When you wrap your crocheted strip around the wreath make sure your rows match up. Now make your snowballs. With white yarn and a size G hook.. Large Snowball: Magic Ring, chain 1 and make 5 SC in ring, continue to SC in rounds Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around (10 SC) stuff with poly-fil Medium Snowball:

The Life Artistic: Crochet Flower Slippers For all you infrequent flyers out there: planes are freezing. I forgot this important bit of information when I boarded the flight to Brazil, wearing thin pants and flip-flops. I spent 8 hours shivering while the woman next to me cozied up in big, fuzzy socks, and all I could think about was what I would do for a pair of cozy plane slippers. So, on the trip back (I did remember socks that time) I came up with these! I wanted something that worked up quickly, and didn't require any fancy straps or buttons. Note: This pattern is written for a size 7 to 7½ foot, but it could easily be altered for smaller or larger feet. Flower Slippers Loops and Threads Impeccable worsted, 1 skein soft rose, 1 skein dark forest Hook: size 9 (I) In soft rose, make a slp knot. Now, with no further ado {The Rufly Scarf Tutorial } This is a super easy project for which you do not need any knitting / crocheting skills. For the scarf shown in the photo I used 100 gr. of chunky yarn skein, and the yarn does need to be chunky so that the scarf can get an exquisite and rich (ruffled) look. First decide how wide you want the scarf to be, gather a small portion of yarn, hold it tight and sew through the center of it. I said it is a bit slow and boring but you'll be finished in less than half an hour and this also makes a sweet gift without any knitting. Do not worry. I hope you like it.
