Gifts are in my mind! …It took me a few weeks however to put this list of handmade gifts together festive ice skate tag card… there’s a festive chill in the air this holiday season so time for a little winter fun. i always get asked what to do with all of the tags i make? well you can use them as an actual tag and place in a journal or scrapbook page, or use as a gift tag, or perhaps cut the top off the tag and layer on a card…but what about making an actual card from a tag? today i wanted to share a simple tag card using the bigz ice skate die i designed for sizzix this year. i must say many people are loving this new ice skate die and the coordinating mini movers and shapers ice skate die (sure seems to bring up lots of childhood memories for many). one of the cool features of the bigz ice skate die is the ability to lace the skates since the die actually cuts lacing slots - here’s how… step 1: begin by die cutting a pair of the bigz ice skates from grungeboard.

So a few weeks ago, I had an idea: I would buy some old fat ties at a thrift shop and take them to a tailor to have them altered.

DIY Tiny Bow on a Fork As the holiday season is coming, we might have already been thinking about the gifts we are going to give to your family and friends. When we decorate a gift package or a handmade greeting card, we often need to tie a bow. Sometimes the ribbon bow is so small that it’s not easy to make it by hand. Luckily there is a simple solution to it and the secret is using a fork. In the video below, Handimania demonstrates how to make a perfect tiny bow just by using a fork. Isn’t that cool? DIY Driftwood Photo Display By the South Coast of Norway, where I live, there is a lot of driftwood to be found along the shore. One thing you can make of driftwood is decorations. I´ve used three wooden sticks, drilled two holes in each of them and used twine with knots to hold it all together. I also found some tiny clothespins for the photos.

G’day! Pallet wood walkway all prettied up again My pallet wood walkway in the garden has kept me busy today. I’m starting to think that bloggers just shouldn’t have gardens. Actually, let me rephrase that… maybe we should just blog about them more so they’re kept up. DIY: Bottles Full of Light The other day, I wrote about attempting to drill through glass and I finished up the project this weekend. I think it turned out beautifully — I love the idea of bottled light! These would be pretty by a wintery window or under an entry table. I like the way the gold paint makes the bottom of the bottles look misty and glow-y, even during the daytime. I’ve got a ton of images and DIY instructions below if you’d like to try this too. For tools and supplies, I started at my local True Value.
