Stunning Self-Portraits by a 17-Year-Old (18 photos) - My Modern Metropolis - StumbleUpon Like Valerie Chiang or Kalie Garrett, Alex Stoddard is one of those talented teenage photographers who knows how to express themselves. His self-portraits are all incredibly unique and after viewing them you're left wondering where he's going to take you next. What I enjoy most is that you can almost feel his passion come through. His commitment to not only executing on an idea but doing it well, is apparent to anyone who sees his photos. I got in touch with Alex to ask him a few questions, including how his style evolved while taking on the 365 project. What have you learned from your 365 project? Your photos are all beautifully artistic. I see that you're friends with Rosie Hardy. How has Flickr helped you develop your style? Are there any quotes you live by? Thanks for the interview, Alex. Check out more of Alex's incredible photos on his Flickr page.

Toronto News: Year-long exposure of Toronto skyline produces 'dreamy' image zoom For 365 straight days and nights, light has crept through the pinhole, slowly building an exposure on a piece of photosensitive paper. A typical exposure with a digital SLR on a bright sunny day, depending on aperture and ISO, might last between 1/250th and 1/1000th of a second. In Chrisman’s pinhole experiment, the “shutter” — there really isn’t one on a pinhole camera, just a piece of electrical tape or a removable cap, perhaps — has been open for 31,536,000 seconds, give or take a few. On New Year’s Eve day, Chrisman trudged out to retrieve the camera and exposed paper inside. “I’m thrilled with it,” Chrisman said Sunday. Think of it as a time-lapse painting. The camera, a simple black box, was mounted to the side of a rusty metal box next to a shipping beacon near the shipping canal. Chrisman, a 31-year-old freelance editorial and art photographer, put it there on Jan. 1, 2011, knowing a lot could go wrong. The nature of the exposure will likely result in a muddy look.

SeanaSteve : Prints, prints, prints! Battle of the Brush Grand Finale Part Two! I am thrilled to be working with the team at Golden Brush Art. Every year they hold a live art painting competition called Battle of the Brush and their Grand Finale did not disappoint. The theme was Fairy Tales, and while all stayed within the realm of Disney movies, the paintings were distinct and beautiful. Like this: Like Loading...
