Mini Manor Blog: Cutlery Tray for Jewelry!

Mini Manor Blog: Cutlery Tray for Jewelry!
I LOVE Jewelry, real jewelry, costume jewelry, all of it . . . almost as much as I love shoes! I have a small jewelry box for my "real" jewelry. As much as I'd love to fill a wall with gold and diamond jewelry, we can't afford that :( so as far as my real items go, I only own the classics. A small pair of diamond studs, a pair of peal earrings, a pearl necklace, a cocktail ring, a couple of white gold bands, and of coarse my wedding band and engagement ring!! But it wasn't my "good" jewelry I was having a hard time storing, it was my costume jewelry I couldn't make room for! So while at walmart, I found some bamboo cutlery trays for $10 each! Second: I decided on what jewelry I wanted where and Lee started screwing in the hooks, which immediately cracked the back panel. Last: We screwed the tray to the wall using an anchor and a screw (super simple). I organized my jewelry by color, and style. Then I stored my brighter more colorful jewelry together, Total Cost: p.s. Linking to:

Easy Back of Door Gift Wrap Organizer Pretty packages are one of the best things about the holidays but I tend to have an issue with giftwrap. Either I can't find the roll I want or its crushed beneath something in the closet. Ive been meaning to make or buy a gift wrap organizer for a while but nothing suited me. Lucky for me, the organizing stars aligned this weekend while I was browsing in Ikea. I found a few kitchen accessories and wondered if that might do the trick. Turned out to be just perfect for what I wanted. I simply screwed the bars onto the inside of a closest door, hung the baskets and used the curtain clips to hang the gift wrap. Such a small and easy project but I love how it turned out. details: I used 3 of the BYGEL rails, one FINTORP bucket, 2 BYGEL wire baskets, BYGEL hooks and a package of these DIGNITET curtain hooks.

DIY Personalised Clock – A FUN way to learn to tell the time! I found this fantastic idea over on Pinterest here and just HAD to make it. I’m keen to start Master L (5yo) on learning the time so I thought this was a FUN way to get his learning juices flowing! This would also make a wonderful gift too! You will need: 22cm clock (9 inches) Glue (I always use a glue gun, but craft glue would work just as well) Screwdriver Clock battery Scissors First take a photo of your ‘subject’. Make sure you get the whole ‘subject’ in the shot from the tip of their finger to the bottom of their toes and take the photo front on. The ideal pose it to have one finger pointing straight up with their arm close to their ear & the other arm down by their side. I printed the images on both a 6×4 and 5×7 size photo. Now using your screwdriver, take the front off the clock and keep the screws in a safe place! You can pull off the seconds hand at this point, but I didn’t bother. Now cut your subjects out of the photos carefully all the way around. Sand Footprint Craft

Thrifted Firewood Rack Sometimes inspiration for a craft comes to you from out of the blue. And sometimes you trip over it… literally. Well, at least I did for this project! I looked at that mean magazine rack that jumped out at me {I swear that’s how it happened!} This is what my little beauty looked like when I found her attacking people sitting all alone at a thrift store. After sitting in my closet for 5 months, I pulled out my little lady, excited to transform her! She was still looking ho-hum until I added the white stripes. I’m absolutely in love with my thrifted firewood rack! What is something that you have re-purposed??

Kitchen Pantry Reveal ! I {finally} completed my pantry makeover! I mentioned in June {wow it took me a while to finish this} that I was going to redo my kitchen pantry here. I ripped out the old shelves, painted, stenciled, installed new shelves, and organized all my goods. Here's a before/after shot: I will definitely be writing a couple more posts about the project explaining the steps... but for now I just want to sit back and show off my final reveal! The organization makes me so happy! I even took out a shelf {originally had 5, now 4} but since everything is organized and has its own spot, I ended up with way more room! I'm even able to store my most frequently used craft supplies, my camera and its accessories so they're always in arms reach. The containers are from Home Goods for $7 and I used some twine to add a piece of slate I had spray painted with chalkboard paint to label what's inside. The gorgeous stencil I used is from Cutting Edge Stencils. Everything has a home... {Happy Dance}! One last look:

INSTABRAID My version of the Pouf! I love all of the Poufs available to purchase, including the cute Striped Poufs from West Elm! SO Cute, but so expensive! So I figured I could make my own! How hard could it be? I am an expert at pillows! I wanted to sew an 18x18 square cube cushion that was 12 inches high. Materials needed: About 2 yards of fabric (I used Wavery Lovely Lattic Fabric) White cording 2 Packages of Blanket Batting 1 Package of loose batting (I only used about 3/4 of this) Sewing machines and supplies So I cut 5 pieces of patterned fabric and one white piece (for the bottom). I started by pinning and sewing the 4 side pieces back to back until I had a big circle of fabric. Then before preparing to sew on the top, I decided to add white cording for an extra detail. And then pinned the top layer to the side layer and SLOWLY started sewing the 3 pieces together. I took my time at the corners and went back a couple times to try and get them as straight as possible. I then repeated for the bottom panel. I LOVE IT!
