ITU Gaze Tracker

ITU Gaze Tracker
The ITU Gaze Tracker is an open-source eye tracker that aims to provide a low-cost alternative to commercial gaze tracking systems and to make this technology more accessible. It is developed by the Gaze Group at the IT University of Copenhagen and other contributors from the community, with the support of the Communication by Gaze Interaction Association (COGAIN). The eye tracking software is video-based, and any camera equipped with infrared nightvision can be used, such as a videocamera or a webcam. The cameras that have been tested with the system can be found in our forum. The ITU Gaze Tracker is hosted in SourceForge. In order to run the software, uncompress the zip file and double click on GazeTrackerUI.exe. The user's guide to run and configure the ITU Gaze Tracker can be downloaded from here (PDF document) You can also follow this screencast on youtube to help you in the setup process. The requirements to run the ITU Gaze Tracker are: San Agustin, J., Skovsgaard, H., Hansen, J.

TrackEye : Real-Time Tracking Of Human Eyes Using a Webcam. Free source code and programming help Introduction Eyes are the most important features of the human face. So effective usage of eye movements as a communication technique in user-to-computer interfaces can find place in various application areas. Eye tracking and the information provided by the eye features have the potential to become an interesting way of communicating with a computer in a human-computer interaction (HCI) system. The purpose of the project is to implement a real-time eye-feature tracker with the following capabilities: RealTime face tracking with scale and rotation invariance Tracking the eye areas individually Tracking eye features Eye gaze direction finding Remote controlling using eye movements Instructions to Run and Rebuild TrackEye Installation Instructions Extract TrackEye_Executable.zip file. WebSVN - Subversion via Apache HowTo - A Small Orange Web Hosting Forums I wanted to set up a Subversion repository and allow public browsing. As dicussed elsewhere, Trac has too many dependencies (including mod_python or fcgi, which can be a pain) and WebDAV is out of the question for the shared accounts, so I needed an alternative. With a little searching, I found WebSVN which offered a few different, yet clean interfaces and a nice set of options. Here's how I set everything up: First we create a svn repository. We want to specify the FSFS type because the Berkley DB causes to many permission issues when apache runs as a different user than you. $ cd ~/ $ mkdir svn $ svnadmin create --fs-type fsfs svn Now, we want to lay out our repo into a nice format. Now, let's make sure it worked. $ svnlook tree /home/<username>/svn / ProjectB/ trunk/ branches/ tags/ ProjectA/ trunk/ branches/ tags/ $ cd ../ $ rm -r tmpdir Now we want to install WebSVN. Finally, we point WebSVN at our repo and alter any other settings we want: That should do it.

What Customers Want > Chapter 2: What Customers Want In this chapter, author Jodie Dalgleish explains that what customers want from a web site depends on what they want to do, and then shows you how to deliver it to them. As I've stood behind customers, in the moment before they experience a business' Web site for the first time, I've been poignantly aware of all the expectations they have poised in their fingertips as they anticipate swinging into action once the home page downloads. I have found that, basically, customers expect a Web site to improve the service they receive from the business in question. To a customer, this means getting things done easier, faster, and smarter. As soon as customers download a Web site, they expect to experience something superior; they expect businesses to have applied this great, new technology to enhance their service experience and to help them, personally, get things done. And what does it mean to get things done? Sound familiar? 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. These five areas are all important.

Laser Gesture Recognition. Free source code and programming help Introduction Wouldn't it be great if we could somehow give visual commands to our computer without touching the keyboard or mouse? In this article, we will put together a simple laser gesture recognition application and use it to control Windows Media Player. This is far more comfortable than using a remote control because you don't have to look for the correct buttons in the dark. All you have to do is make a few simple gestures anywhere in the camera's field of view with a laser pointer, and that's it! This program recognizes simple gestures made on a wall with a laser pointer such as left, right, up, down, two downward and two upward diagonals. Video Our first step is to get a video feed into our application from a webcam. Recognition The program searches for the brightest pixel in its field of view (which is a laser dot, in our case) with luminance above a certain threshold value. Luminance = (299 * red + 587 * green + 114 * blue) / 1000 Controlling Windows Media Player Conclusion

◦WILD - The Five Phases Of WILD - Dreamviews lucid dreaming forums Wake Initiated Lucid Dream, or WILD, has been called the Holy Grail of lucid dreamers. It is a powerful, yet somewhat elusive technique. Imagine, being able to pass from waking into a lucid dream with no lapse in consciousness, or being able to have a lucid dream every night! It is no wonder so many people are interested in learning to WILD. Many questions have been asked about WILD and much information has been shared on the forum about it. This tutorial is an attempt to guide you, step by step as you learn to WILD using techniques I have learned from personal experience and from reading posts on this and other websites. This tutorial is far from being a comprehensive guide, but does contain the basics and some pointers that will help you learn to WILD. Don't say "click here"; not everyone will be clicking - Quality Web Tips Don't use "click here" as link text What a link means When calling the user to action, use brief but meaningful link text that: provides some information when read out of context explains what the link offers doesn't talk about mechanics is not a verb phrase An example For instance, avoid the following sentence on your page: To download W3C's editor/browser Amaya, click here. or: To download Amaya, go to the Amaya Website and get the necessary software. Both of these sentences divulge too much of the mechanics of getting the Amaya software. Get Amaya! Note that "get" is left out of the hypertext; we do not recommend putting verb phrases in link text. Tell me more about Amaya. You should write: Tell me more about Amaya: W3C's free editor/browser that lets you create HTML, SVG, and MathML documents. Overclocking Core i7: Power Versus Performance : Does it Make Sense To Go for Maximum Performance? - Review Tom's Hardware We've seen a great number of processors from Intel with impressive overclocking margins, which means that they can be operated at amazingly high clock speeds, often as high as 30-50% above the specified clock rate. However, extreme overclocking increases power consumption, especially if increased processor voltage is required to reach the desired clock speeds (as we saw in our Phenom II Overclock Optimization story). Today, we look at an Intel Core i7 920 system to find the best speed settings to deliver truly high performance at still acceptable power consumption levels. Overclocking Is A Feature While early overclocking attempts in the late 1990s were only possible on select motherboards that supported fine-tuning of bus speeds, multipliers, and voltages, the status and perception of overclocking is different today. Everyone Can Overclock Many products—chipsets, processors, graphics chips and more—are built based on comfortable, if not ample, tolerances. How Fast Should You Go?
