The Java™ Tutorials
The Java Tutorials have been written for JDK 8. Examples and practices described in this page don't take advantage of improvements introduced in later releases. The Java Tutorials are practical guides for programmers who want to use the Java programming language to create applications. They include hundreds of complete, working examples, and dozens of lessons. Groups of related lessons are organized into "trails". Trails Covering the Basics These trails are available in book form as The Java Tutorial, Sixth Edition. Creating Graphical User Interfaces Creating a GUI with Swing — A comprehensive introduction to GUI creation on the Java platform.Creating a JavaFX GUI — A collection of JavaFX tutorials. You can browse the photos in all your libraries directly from iPhoto Library Manager, without having to open each library in iPhoto just to see its photos, and search across all your libraries to help track down a particular photo. iPLM also gives you the ability to copy your photos from one library to another, while keeping track of photo metadata that is normally lost when exporting from one library and importing into another. Titles, dates, descriptions, keywords, ratings, faces, and place information are all transferred along with the photos, ensuring that you keep all that information you spent hours entering into iPhoto.

Java Tutorial 5 - Inheritance and Polymorphism To aid programmer productivity, the Java Standard Edition (JSE) includes several predefined class packages (aka Java class libraries). Packages/libraries discussed in this set of tutorials are: applets java.applet, language extensions java.lang, utilities java.util, precision math java.math, formatters java.text, file streams java.io, GUIs java.awt and javax.swing, network services java.net, new io (ie. memory mapped) java.nio and remote method invocation java.rmi. Other libraries include beans java.beans, communication ports java.comm, database management java.sql and security java.security. The import reserved word is used to access classes from libraries other than java.lang. Note 1: For information on creating your own class packages or using 3rd-party libraries see the Java Appendix. As Apple's built-in Firewall preferences improves in both functionality and security, I will be aiming Flying Buttress more at users who need the advanced firewall configuration, logging, and IP sharing options found in Flying Buttress. There is no reason that a new or inexperienced user cannot use Flying Buttress, but Apple's own Firewall preferences will likely remain a simpler interface for configuring a basic firewall. Embedded web-server with deflate compression. Asynchronous reverse DNS resolution using a child process. RDFaTutorial - FOAF Wiki This is a rough start at a tutorial on RDFa . It is incomplete. The idea is to introduce RDFa's basic processing model, rather than starting with markup. It needs finishing with examples.
