Recreación en cadena - Día Internacional de la Cultura Científica Septiembre 18. 2020.- Recreación en Cadena, la Red Mexicana de Talleristas de Ciencia, en colaboración con la Sociedad Mexicana para la Divulgación de la Ciencia y la Técnica (SOMEDICYT) y otras cinco organizaciones mexicanas y de Costa Rica, en marzo de este año propusieron formalmente a la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura (UNESCO) el establecimiento del Día Internacional de la Cultura Científica. Para esta conmemoración se sugirió el 28 de septiembre, fecha de la primera emisión de la serie televisiva de divulgación “Cosmos”, de Carl Sagan. La gestión de esta iniciativa está en proceso al interior de la UNESCO. El artículo 27 de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos (DUDH) de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) expresa que “Toda persona tiene derecho a tomar parte libremente en la vida cultural de la comunidad, a gozar de las artes y a participar en el progreso científico y en los beneficios que de él resulten”.
