How to Be Smarter, Increase Your IQ & Become Limitless

“Today, the greatest single source of wealth is between your ears. Today, wealth is contained in brainpower, not brutepower.” -Brian Tracy Reading time: 10-15 minutes Do yo ever wish you were just a bit smarter? That you could think a bit faster, be wittier, and solve complex problems with ease? Me too. Why? Getting good grades and holding my own in intellectual conversations was never particularly hard, but there’s always been a few people a step ahead of me. And to be honest, I was a bit jealous. But I’ve always figured there wasn’t too much I could do about it. Today, I’m going to share with you something extremely powerful, something I’ve discovered recently and haven’t shared with anyone yet: Intelligence is not a set thing. How It All Started: Watching Limitless This whole adventure started a few months ago, when I decided to watch the movie Limitless . “You know they say we can only access 20% of our brain? As I watched that movie, something switched on inside me. So I got busy. Related:  sort it ou

On Becoming Superhuman: Fasting for Fast Weight Loss, Better Health, and Supreme Fitness 3 months ago, I stumbled across a fascinating article on something crazy called Intermittent Fasting (IF). I couldn’t believe what I read about this unusual practice. Consisting of regular 16+ hour fasts (no food, only non-caloric drinks), Intermittent Fasting has been shown scientifically to help achieve fast weight loss, better health, and increased fitness levels. As a student of Optimal Living, I knew I had to dig in and learn more. And thus began an incredible journey down the path of intermittent fasting, towards my craziest challenge so far. The Evolutionary Perspective Before I begin this story, let’s take quick walk up our family tree, all the way back to our hunter-gatherer ancestors, to understand this whole Intermittent Fasting concept. Now these guys, the hunter-gathered, they didn’t eat 3 meals at day at regular intervals like most do now. As leading neuroscience & ageing expert Mark P. Hmm interesting. The answer, it turns out, is “amazing things”. Not bad eh! Wow. Boom! 1. 2.

Fat Burning and Muscle Building Workout - Fitness Routine by Jesse Cannone CFT, CPRS, CSPN Most people who want to burn off some excess pounds and tighten and tone their bodies simply don’t have 2 hours each day to spend in the gym performing the bodybuilding style workouts that most “fitness experts” recommend. Plus, these workouts consist of exercises and techniques that do not exercise the body in the way it is normally used so they end up building a somewhat unusable strength. In my opinion, most people, unless their main objective is body building, shouldn’t perform the traditional style workouts While I do still believe that machine and free weight strength training is the best choice for body building, it is NOT the best choice when it comes to general fitness goals like strength, flexibility, endurance, etc. I don’t know about you, but I can barely fit in 15 minutes for exercise let alone 2 hours… and I personally am not interested in muscle size alone (which doesn’t mean strength and usually leaves you stiff and inflexible)!

50 Things Everyone Should Know How To Do Self-reliance is a vital key to living a healthy, productive life. To be self-reliant one must master a basic set of skills, more or less making them a jack of all trades. Contrary to what you may have learned in school, a jack of all trades is far more equipped to deal with life than a specialized master of only one. While not totally comprehensive, here is a list of 50 things everyone should know how to do. Workout Program for People that Hate Working Out The idea for this workout program dawned on me the other day as a way to slowly (very slowly) get into a fitness routine that you are meant to keep going the rest of your life. We are discussing our progress, challenges and successes in the comments below if you would like to join us! I was sick of training schedules and programs that were so extreme I could only keep them up for a few weeks or days before collapsing under the time or mental pressure. The gist of the workout is 3 parts: Start with a painfully easy workout, like “1 pushup” or “2 squats”, that’s it. The purpose of the workout is to be very long term, something you might do for years. For example, hold off on adding things like “run 1 mile” to your workout until you are months into it. Life is meant to be enjoyed you know No, even if you start off with something painfully simple, keep in mind that you have to think where that workout will be in a year after 52 additions or more. Smile and relax. Give it a try:

Honey Sesame Chicken Somehow I have gotten on this Asian kick lately and I'm loving every bit of it. I am finding out just how easy making these meals are and they all are so yummy! I'm also pretty darn proud of myself for totally keeping to my meal plan this week. I chose dishes to make and didn't really specify a day but the night before I needed to make dinner I would choose which one to make. It worked pretty good for me that way! I came across the blog My Kitchen Snippets quite some time ago. Grumpy enjoyed this meal very much.

Top Ten Butt Exercises • Hiking Now the exercises listed above aren't the only strength moves for the glutes, but we often forget that there are cardio activities that will also engage the backside. Hiking is one of those activities and it also burns tons of calories because you're typically going up steep mountains and maybe even getting into thin air, which requires lots of energy. Also, walking up an incline automatically gets your glutes more involved and, if you're wearing a backpack, you're really getting a workout. Plus, you get to see nature at its best. If you live in a flat area, try raising the incline on your treadmill to mimic hiking up a hill.
