AFM Conference Series | American Film Market Probably like you I am a screenwriter and a producer. But probably unlike you my first screenplay and film, "5 Hour Friends", which stars the devilish and remarkably talented Tom Sizemore was actually produced. We also signed with sales agent which we met at the American Film Market. So why me and not you? It has nothing to do with Hollywood contacts; I live in San Diego but it did have something to do with making a decision that you have likely not considered. You see I decided that I was not so much a screen writer as a story teller. Yes, I committed to producing my script, "5 Hour Friends" and this route may be your best and perhaps your only bet in Hollywood these days. Let me be clear ‐ you need to know how to write because the very foundation of film are words on paper. As the script writer ‐ you are the brightest star in the universe but if you sell your script and walk; you are instantly so much cosmic dust. Here's my 6 step process: Step 1: Write a really great script.

Lagos Hosts Africa's Largest Social Media Gathering For 2014, Social Media Week Lagos introduced the #55FORWARD campaign as a way to bring all of the continent into its February activities. The campaign, focused on highlighting the work of innovators from each of the 55 African nations, was an opportunity to really show this year’s theme “A connected Africa is the future” at… Social Media Week 2014 was amazing. To get an idea of what I mean, check out my top 5 highlights as well as my comparison to the 2013 (and maiden) edition of the week long conference. However, it’s Thursday and good timing for a throwback so I decided to share the one photograph that captured… Had the opportunity to explore the effect of social media on the future of events with Japheth Omojuwa, who pulled off a phenomenal virtual event on twitter for the #MTNFootballAwards, and Samson Aligba, founder of event management tool startup, Eventiso. It’s been an amazing week for me and very glad I made the decision to travel down to Lagos.
