Painting Intoxicated at 100 MPH It's almost as if Alexandra Pacula paints what she sees while driving drunk at 100 mph. "My work investigates a world of visual intoxication; it captures moments of enchantment, which are associated with urban nightlife," says the New York-based artist born in Poland. "I am fascinated by the ambiance of the city at night and its seductive qualities. The breathtaking turbulence of speeding vehicles and hasty pedestrians evoke feelings of wonder and disorientation. The vibrant lights become a magical landscape with enticing opportunities and promises of fulfillment." Pacula paints with oil to recreate the feeling of dizziness and confusion. "I suggest motion in order to slow down the scene and capture the fleeting moments, which tend to be forgotten," she says. Steve Smith I don’t know what’s the deal with these hyperrealist artists, once again, great work, but absolutely no information…so I’ll just tell you to look at Steve Smith’s pretty paintings, who apparently dreams of sunny days, holidays and sunglasses. Can’t say I blame him! Best Free Vector Graphics Editor Unlike bitmap or raster graphics, vector graphics use geometrical objects inclusive of points, lines, curves, circles or other shapes to form an image based on mathematical expressions. One big advantage I like for vector graphics is that they are scalable without losing resolution. We can easily find many choices of free digital image editors, but unfortunately not all of them are capable of editing vector graphics. In this review, I include those that can edit vector graphics and select the best for you. Go straight to the Quick Selection Guide To quote their website "Inkscape... uses W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format. The current release is only at V0.48 and doesn't, for example, yet support SVG filter effects, animation, and SVG fonts. From the same stable as PhotoPlus (in the Best Free Digital Image Editor category), DrawPlus is drawing and graphics software that enables you to create vector graphics, family trees, room layouts and even web animations. Visual Thinking Evolution A mind map is a diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks, or other items linked to and arranged around a central key word or idea. Especially in British English, the terms spidergram and spidergraph are more common,[1] but they can cause confusion with the term spider diagram used in mathematics and logic. Mind maps are used to generate, visualize, structure, and classify ideas, and as an aid to studying and organizing information, solving problems, making decisions, and writing. The elements of a given mind map are arranged intuitively according to the importance of the concepts, and are classified into groupings, branches, or areas, with the goal of representing semantic or other connections between portions of information. By presenting ideas in a radial, graphical, non-linear manner, mind maps encourage a brainstorming approach to planning and organizational tasks. The mind map can be contrasted with the similar idea of concept mapping. Reference: wikipedia

Mind Mapping Software - Create Mind Maps online a Draw Anywhere - easy online diagramming, flow chart Best Free Digital Image Stitcher Image stitching - the term is actually a good analogy. Stitching images or photos is the process of combining several digital images together so that you get one big one in the end. That wouldn't be so tough you might say, but what makes stitching software so helpful is that it is "sewing" those photographs together with no obvious trace of the seam. What you get is a great single panorama view of what you have photographed with several pictures. Go straight to the Quick Selection Guide Microsoft Image Composite Editor (abbreviated as ICE) - I am very, very impressed with this photographic image stitcher. There are four modes of camera motion to stitch your sequence of images, three fixed and one that you can adjust the distortion and that the 'Rotation motion'. The Legend of Zelda by ~maiyue on deviantART Interactive Starry Night Over the past few years I’ve probably encountered dozens of terrible, kitschy animated interpretations of Edvard Munch’s The Scream or Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, but this interactive version of Van Gogh’s Starry Night seems to be something wholly different and wonderful. Greek digital artist Petros Vrellis used openFrameworks to convert the post-impressionist painting into an interactive artwork, where touch-sensitive gestures change the direction of the wind, sprout new buildings, and create ambient background tones. I bet if Van Gogh rolled over in his grave to look at this, it might make him smile a bit.
