The primary interface between the UK’s planning system and the people and places it serves is a piece of A4 paper tied to a lamppost in the rain. OK, not always rain. But rain often enough. The paper is a public notice describing a planning application for some kind of ‘development’ somewhere in the vicinity.

En esta materia se tienen distintos casos de estudio, como lo fue la Biblioteca Pública de Seattle, la obra de Alvar Aalto, estudios generales de crítica arquitectónica y actualmente la importancia de la estructura en la forma y desarrollo de un proyecto. ''Even A Brick Wants To Be Something'' - Louis Kahn

When I was thirteen years old, while watching ''Indecent Proposal'' (1993) directed by Adrian Lyne, based on the novel by Jack Engelhard, Woody Harrelson held up a brick and said the phrase ''EVEN A BRICK WANTS TO BE SOMETHING'' whilst giving an architecture lecture. Today, twenty years later, the ''Louis Kahn-The Power of Architecture'' exhibition has just given me the chance to discover more about the complex and nomadic life of the real man who talked to this Brick.
Project
The fifth studio Francois Roche has been tutoring at Columbia University since 2006 recently presented its last projects. One of them drove an interesting conversation between the jury and its authors, Brian Buckner & Loukia Tsafoulia. For this year's studio, Francois Roche was assisted by Ezio Blasetti and Dave Pigram For the second year, this studio was experimenting processes of life and death of an architecture; in this regard, Sadic Apiaries is a system composed by two robots and thousand of bees. The first robot is used as a mobile matrix for the bees to build the hives architecture, while the second robot exercises a sadistic role on the bees via smoke throw in order to orient the construction.With time, the wax loose of its consistency (and color) and eventually disintegrates, thus triggering the death of this architecture. Urban SOS
Urban SOS: Fair Share Led by AECOM and Van Alen Institute, in partnership with 100 Resilient Cities — Pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation, Urban SOS: Fair Share challenged multidisciplinary student teams to combine the concepts of the sharing economy with physical design to propose innovative solutions to critical urban issues. The challenge culminated in a live final jury event in Los Angeles on January 10, 2017, with finalist “First Class Meal” emerging as the 2016 winner.
